Anyone else not getting notifications for Gmail? Doesn't pop up on the watch or vibrate. The orange dot is the only thing that shows there is a notification.

This has been a bug for many people, hopefully a fix coming soon, be sure to report it in Samsung members app so that they are more aware.

Same goes for notifications from the Samsung calendar app.

I've already posted my issues with the Samsung Calendar notifications on a Gmail notifications thread in Samsung Community, which is the same as Samsung Members App,

seems hard to believe Samsung releases a new product with such a glaring bug for a native app but here we are.

GMail is NOT a native Samsung App, it's a Google app and I don't think it is fair to blame Samsung for this one. :(

Well, unless it is found out that there is a bug in their implementation of their overlays on WearOS. :p

I work in Tech Engineering and it's frustrating when you dev something, test and test and everything works great and then to release something to the world only to realize you have issues because someone changed something without enough notice to realize and fix or just without any notice at all. Where the blame lies is anyone's guess, but I do have to agree that after several updates, you'd think SOMEONE would have been able to fix it. :(

isn't the software literally a joint effort between Samsung and google?

Yeah, but I am sure there are limitations imposed on both sides on how much access they give each other to Closed Source Code. The more likely scenario (which is what we do with outside Dev's) is to create/grant access to API's that allows them to do thing that they need to do. However, if those API's are poorly documented or poorly implemented, there is only so much Samsung can do.

I am sure Google gave Samsung pretty deep level access in order to get their flagship watches ported over to WearOS over Tizen, but access only goes so far. From what I understand, Samsung's primary implementation is more of a "Skin" for WearOS to make it look and feel like their past devices as much as possible, but not given a deep level of access to the "internals".

Gmail and text notifications are both hit/miss for me.
Hope an update addresses this!
