Good morning Kevin, the reason I brought up the length of time I've been involved in technology is because reading your earlier post I read as you didn't think I had a clue about technology, which after rereading maybe not so much, so as far as relating specially to the DNA vs the ONE discussion the length of time I've been involved in technology is irrelevant. As far as the wireless charging, we'll have to agree to disagree. To find the Apple announcement I would have to go through the many tech sites that I read every day, if I can find it, I'll gladly send it to you. Now, as far as your phone comparisons, I think the DNA is a lot closer to the ONE than the X and its many variations. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Now two things I wanted to bring up. How did the quality of Samsung and Apple get tied into this post? All Kevin and I were talking about was wireless charging.

Apple has never made any announcement regarding wireless charging. What you are referring to is a patent application.

A simple search on Google will get you the answer you're looking for. I got the information through one of the many tech sites I visit.

There are few tech sites these days that aren't a little biased in some way, I wouldn't call most of them credible anymore.

I'll believe it when Apple says so themselves.

Your not kidding, Engadget is probably one of the worst offenders. Download the Appygeek app, it pulls information from about all of the tech sites.

A simple search via Google will give you such sources as "gottabemobile" "BGR" or "auto-o-mobile." Which to say is a simple Google search doesn't offer concrete evidence. Would it not be much easier to appropriately source your statements rather than proclaiming them as fact? Surely someone experienced as yourself can understand the value in citing your sources?

I seen it almost a week ago, so to find the exact site would be tough at best. If I do run across the site again, I'll gladly PM it to you.

Engadget, CNET, all the biggest ones. I'll wait until I see a link from the company itself or this site itself posts something. That's where the credibility is.

I forgot all about CNET, sometimes you have to wonder if they're broadcasting right from APPLE'S offices. lol.

Oh yes, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Can there not be an HTC thread without bashing Samsung when it doesn't apply? It's getting pathetic. When warranted, sure. But when it's forced it comes off sad. Just defend your HTC One based off it's own merits. Aren't there enough? You have to compare it to a phone that's 10 months old?

Really? Did you read the op? He specifically cited apple and Samsung for their innovation. I figured attacking apple for it was like beating a dead horse at this point, so I focused on Samsung and the s3.

The sad truth is no one is doing a lot of innovation right now hardware wise and the best we can hope for software wise is quirky new features like eye scrolling. When are we going to see full multitasking? When will we see phones that are not ergonomic nightmares? When will we see tech at will truly improve battery life instead the band aid fix of slapping a huge battery on it? Where is the standard for connecting all your devices and sharing all your screens seamlessly?

The only really new thing in the last year has been the lcd3 tech, and that is evolutionary. The market is screaming for someone to step it up and truly make a new device instead of a simplely better device. And that device is nowhere in sight unless moto pulls a rabbit out of the hat with the xphone. I guess Google with have to step in and through its money around like it has to in every marker just to get progress.

I think innovation has pretty much peaked on the hardware side of things on smartphones. I think it's going to become a software battle from here on.

You've got that all wrong LegalAmerican. Each HTC One thread I've been a part of that went that direction was someone coming into the conversation preaching Samsung. Not the other way around.

To think that is to retire to a sad little place. There is ALWAYS better tech and things to be improved. There is always more inventive and creative ways of doing things. The limits are only self imposed. With the time and resources, nothing is impossible.

You mean you SAW it a week ago?

Not even sure what you saw, because what you're talking about doesn't exist. Apple does not make announcements regarding technology that will appear in future iPhones. What you saw was speculation.

They are. CNET's address should be 2 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA. And if they printed their own money, Steve Jobs would be on the $1, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 bills. They'd screw Woz over, though, and give him the $2 bill just because he likes Android.

Innovative.

Such an overused term and might be an unrealistic expectation.

IMO, the only thing innovative about the One is the "ultrapixel" camera. But while low-light shots look amazing (for a camera phone), the regular shots (that I saw in the Verge review) aren't all that great - relative to other high-end phone cameras.

Honestly, lots of high expectations...

This post deserves an award.
