Has everyone else received their security patches? I've just checked and I've not had an update since 5th august on my 6P. Any ideas?

Thanks, but the reboot didn't work. It's strange that's it's 2 months out, I'll flash it and see how it goes. Cheers

I'm still on August security update. Not rooted or nothing like that. Any thoughts why I haven't received security updates? To get nougat i enrolled in developer preview, got it then unenrolled.

Same here. No September or October so far. The common theme seems to be that those of us that enrolled in Beta to get the 7.0 release version quickly and then un enrolled are not getting updates. I have seen several of these threads in this forum.

I faced the same scenario - enrolled in beta, immediately got Nougat, un-enrolled, no sept. or oct security updates. I had to re-enroll in the beta program and immediately received the oct. security update, then un-enrolled again. Must be some way to break this cycle......

Although, now I'm considering re-enrolling again to get 7.1.

So I may have to re-enroll in beta to receive security updates? If I get 7.1 preview and unenroll will my be phone wiped out? Or could I choose not to install 7.1 and only install security updates? Don't want to deal with having phone wiped out and setting up everything again

Not sure on that. I got the security patches a week ago before 7.1DP came out. What would happen now, I'll have to defer to others more knowledgeable. I did ask your same question about installing 7.1 over on the nougat forum and someone responded it would wipe my device if I decided it wasn't working out for me and I wanted to go back to 7.0.

I chatted with Google support (using the Support tab in the Settings app in 7.1.1) and they said that if I unenroll from the 7.1.1 Developer Preview I would be returned to 7.0 but that it wouldn't wipe my device. YMMV.

Got it. Thanks! I'll give it a few weeks to see if I get the security updates, don't want to risk my phone being wiped out. Don't have time to backup, restore, etc

I'm considering going to 7.1.1 too, given some of my 7.0 issues, but I'm wondering similar, if at RTM I'll just be able to un-enroll and get the final, or if I'll have to reset?
I saw all the chatter about this, leading to 7.0, I don't suppose anyone has some solid indication that it'll go similarly?

Edit: I read the 7.1 EULA document, and it definitely says you'll just transition into RTM, so I'm taking the plunge. Took all of maybe 2 minutes to download, rebooting now, everything crossed... ;-]

Sorry is this a dumb question, what does "RTM" mean?

release to manufacture. Its the official release version once the beta testing is done with the pre releases.

So far, so good, it's a lot "snappier" than 7.0, feels like I took it back to MM, but with the 7.x features.
It's looking like I can maybe leave BT on again, hopefully, doze seems MUCH better in 7.1.1...

I had one instance where it didn't wake up from fingerprint so far, had to hit the power button, my only real issue, in 0.5 day ;-]

Just updated to 7.1.1. "ok Google" did not work at first. got it working. It needs work though. Had to toggle some settings on off to get it to work and some are grayed out and one "always on" when toggled on turns right back off. everything else so far so good. Camera is STUPID FAST WOW!

Well it's a good thing you haven't tried it. Because I had nothing better to do (and, frankly, because I don't trust support in matters like this) I went ahead and unenrolled from the 7.1.1 Developer Preview (after making a current backup of course). I was immediately presented with

(uh oh - that doesn't sound good) and after the unenroll was completed I received

At this point my device hadn't been wiped, so I suppose I could have just ignored the system update but I went ahead and accepted it and of course it wiped my device and rolled it back to 7.0 (NBD90X).

Oh well - now you know not to trust anything I post.
