Long story short, when I tried to download the OS update from Verizon, it turned my phone into a really expensive paperweight. Verizon said my warranty is void because there was a crack in the screen that's over six months old and has nothing to do with the software.

Is there a way to try and reinstall the software through the USB? I'm not sure what I need to download or how to do it.

Thanks. I'm going to try it. There are just so many threads here I had no idea where to look first or which download to use.

Edit: I think it worked. The phone turned on, but it's telling me I need a SIM card. Is that because I temporally switched my number to an old BB? Will that screen go away and the network come back when I call Verizon in the morning? Or did something happen to the SIM card in the phone?

Thank you again for possibly saving me a few hundred dollars.

Don't know about the sim card. You may just need to pull it, and put it back in. Seems I've heard of that happening to other guys, but I never followed up on the fix. Worst case, you go to a store and get a new Sim. Glad it worked out for you.

Got a new sim card and everything works. It seems that when you switch off the 4LTE, the old sim card gets void. They needed to activate a new one and install it for me.

Thank you again for all your help.
