Not updating to ICS?

So it must be me, I really dislike the blue icons in the top bar. I also like GB lock screen.

I dont like the look of ICS either. GB looks much better in my opinion. I was really hoping for a graphics upgrade too... the blue icons and overly minimalistic ui really dont do it for me. The people app looks awesome. Ill likely upgrade to try it out, but will end up back on MIUI with my webos theme.

Re: Updating to ICS?

I'm not quite sure what you mean here?

It was posted on the front page so he clicked the link not realizing that this is a Samsung NEXUS forum or doesn't understand what the Nexus series offers.

He owns an HTC....

I know what he meant. I wanted him to say it so I could laugh at his Evo not getting ICS. ;)

Re: Updating to ICS?

Graphically, android turns in to less of a full os and more of a foundational platform with each release. Thats not a bad thing. It gives manufacturers a clean base to build on. It does mean, however that I will continue to be bored with stock android.

I like the simple clean look of Android. Your right though as far as it being clean to have a nice canvas to work with; but, I still like it clean and simple.

I still prefer a basic HTML4 webpage over all those flash webpages. Those things piss me off.

Fancy don't function.

I'm a big fan of the look of gingerbread. As long as ICS is also decently minimulistic looking like gb then ill be happy. I haven't really seen the ICS interface yet. I'm waiting for a port to my 3vo or to see it in store. I think it'll be more fun for me to see it that way than in videos. Its been hard not to peek looks lol

Ha, I knew there was others.

That's the exact reason why I love GB.

I still think, even if you don't agree with it initially, is a step in the right direction. I think it's very sleek looking and more upfront than GB giving your more "view" of everything.

Re: Updating to ICS?

It depends on how "bloated" the OS will be. For those devices with small internal memory, might not be able to get it installed unless there is a custom rom available packaged in a smaller size.

As with the prior GB, HTC said it wasn't going to push it to the Desire due to limited internal memory. But they did anyhow. I suspect with ICS, it won't happen to devices with less than 1gb internal memory.

There are a lot of features I do like. My two things are lock screen and blue icons.

Re: Updating to ICS?

I just hope I figure out how to root a phone. Because... if my HTC Evo 3D doesn't get the official ICS update - then I'm force to get it unofficially. Hahahaa.

Ps. I might just pay someone to do this for me.

Re: Updating to ICS?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you're probably not gonna have to ever worry about....you're using a Samsung phone!

The Nexus line gets update by Google themselves with pure Android. Updating a phone that runs stock Android is super simple and happens very quickly.

If they remove sense then I'm sure they would be able to push it to older phones like the evo and so on.

What is the difference?

Do you guys think ICS will run any slower on the nexus s? If so I kinda want to stay with GB. It may sound crazy but I'm basically in love with how my phone performs right now and as much as I love the new features of ICS, it wouldn't be worth it to me if there is a performance drop. What do you guys think?

In that video on YouTube of it running on a nexus s, it looked very smooth and fluid
