Note 10.1 (2014) making me crazy

I know this may sound stupid, but did you have your devices in a case?

I still have not hooked this up to wifi...but I was having issues with the notifications drop down just refusing to drop down...and the S-pen would write, but wouldn't work to get air command up nor much of anything else...Took it out of the case and it worked perfectly! So now I'm doing this sans the case too!

Thank you VERY much Kat0908 I would never have thought the case would screw it up!..

Do you have suggestions for a case that's safe to use?

So far, after figuring out the case was causing problems, (I found one amazon reviewer that meantioned all problems I was having EXCEPT the buttons not working, that problem I still have not solved, but most have been attributed directly to the case now! it was a MoKo Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Case - Slim-Fit Multi-angle Stand Case for Note 10.1 Inch 2014 Edition Tablet,Carbon Fiber PURPLE (With Smart Cover Auto Wake / Sleep) from Amazon)
I've hooked it up to a friends wifi, and updated it, after most of the day, and no problems hooked it to our wifi,
next day hooked up my main gmail box, its the one most likely to be infected with something, everything's still fine...I've loaded several apps now, still alls well...
Plan to hook up my business google account, and see if alls still well, I will attempt to reinstall the SD card..

The only thing I'm worried about is how I'd get 3 devices in a row to have keys that refuse to work, it's the one mystery still unsolved!

Maybe Amazon got a bad batch. Unfortunately the only way to know is you would have the serial number of the 3 devices to see if they are in the same production series from Samsung.
