When I play a film etc. the picture is really sharp except that it's very contrasty and the blacks are too dark.
Is there any way on the note pro to adjust this?
I'm on Note pro with lollipop . . . . . .

I'm no expert but several questions come to mind:
1) Which video app are you using to play your video?
2) What quality is the video that is being played?
3) Are these being streamed via Netflix or Youtube or are they being played from your tablet's storage?

MX player or VLC.
Playing films or tv episodes stored on the tablet.
Top quality but all come out contrasty.

Have you downloaded one of the MX Player Codec apps to go with MX Player? Look in the store and get either ARMv6 or ARMv7 and this may help your issue. If not then try BS Player.

Having tried VLC, MX, BS and Dice I have not been able to find any gamma correction settings to take brightness/contrast levels beyond what is obtained by setting display brightness to maximum. It's not like on a computer with VLC where one can push brightness higher. I'm not sure if this is due to hardware limitations of mobile devices, android or what.
