Note 20 Ultra Shadow on White Screen ?

I see this only on white, light or pastel screens. When I take a screenshot and look at it on a PC or Mac screen the shadow is not there.

If this was a defect with the display would it show up on the screenshots also?
Sometimes no and yes depends.

Yea, it's not the very edges of the display, it's like the top of the moon peeking over the horizon.
It's a shadow that goes right up to the tip of those arrows.

I hate to rip this Whitestone off only to find out it was causing the problem. :'( Only have 14 days for an exchange though.
Pull it off before it's too late to send it back and reorder. I know it sucks but not near as bad as finding out later and being stuck.

Well... this going to sound crazy to all the guys here that know me 'cuz I'm 70 years old and I should probably be the LAST guy that can see it - BUT, I also spent 27 years in the Medical Diagnostic Imaging Service Industry as well and had to insure that my Customers' Equipment was performing at it's best to provide accurate results on patients' images!!! THAT required a really sharp eye, which I think I still have... I can see your shadow. I have NO FLIPPIN' Idea what's causing it, after all that... but, I can see it!!! (You're NOT Crazy)

Yea, it's very hard to see but now that I've seen it I can't unsee it.

Just the thought of taking the WSD off :(

This is basically what I see on light color screens. It's this shape but very faint and hard to see.

I just made it this dark in Photoshop so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about. Do I just live with this or peel off the WSD and see what causing the problem.

If I was sure it was the dome I would just live with it.

Okay, I removed the WSD this morning and thank God it was the glass causing this problem and not a display defect.

I'm going to order some cheap LK's from Amazon and try one of those before putting on my last dome glass.

Here is a picture of the removed glass and you can clearly see the area I was talking about.

Now you can breathe and relax lol.

Wow, I'm surprised WSD did that. For $65US, which is leaps more expensive than everything else, I would expect optical clarity to be flawless. You know, like those sunglasses that are marketed to give you nearly x-ray vision.

I think the blue light cut might give it that effect

I'm thinking that maybe there was not enough adhesive in that area. It was a perfect install and that only showed on white or light screens.

Maybe the dome glass or my screen is not flat?

When I take a screen shot and look at the picture on a computer it's not showing on the screen shot. This makes me think it has something to do with the WSD.
A defective screen won't show on a screen shot either because a screenshot is a software image. It could be the WSD lifted in that spot causing an air gap.

It happens if the glass gets lifted slighy. Usually when installing or removing a case that's a bit on the tight side or not as protector friendly.

This WSD was down/installed 100% perfect, no lifting, no air bubbles and no signs of that shadow except on white screens.

I only removed it as I was worried that my display may have been defective.

Here are a couple pic of that glass installed. No signs at all of a problem except on white screens.

That shiny area on the side picture is just a reflection from the lights.

From your pictures it looked very similar to the air separation in the glue that I have experienced in the past usually along the edges or corners.
