So I went to Best Buy to look at the Note 20 Ultra and I compared the camera side by side with the S20 Ultra and A50. The Note 20 Ultras Camera was a little disappointing as it wasn't as detailed as the other phones. Hopefully a software update can improve this.

Were all the settings the same? Shouldn't be a big difference and taking pictures in the store is not always ideal.

Same settings. 9:16 w scene optimizer on. Even when I turned scene optimizer off for both the Note 20 Ultras Camera had a less detailed view.

I've always been extremely disappointed with the camera on my Note 10 + especially coming from the Pixel 3XL. I really hope Samsung does much better. I've tried so many different settings and pointers and I was never wowed by any of the images like I was with the Pixel

Looking that the reviews I will call BS on your personal review. The reviewers have pointed out the very clearly the S20 camera isn't as good as the Note 20 Ultra. But you are welcome voice your opinion. If the camera was wasn't as good all the reviewers would be reporting the same thing. huh!

:)

Does Samsung still have that smoothing effect on people's faces? On past Samsung phones I've seen it always looked like there was a beauty filter on.

I recently had the Huawei P40 Pro for review purposes and I had a similar experience to start with, I couldn't get clear photos, seemed to be over saturated and after a while I just reset camera settings to default and the difference was night and day!
Maybe the shop phone setting had been played with on the Note 20 ultra.

I have different impression. The zoom and auto focus was much improved. Focus locks pretty much instantly especially compared to S20 Ultra even after updates.

This makes it tempting to upgrade. And the bigger battery.

I'm hoping some improvements for the Note 20 camera. I have the S20 Ultra and I love it but the focus on close up things bothers me. Hard to take pictures of my products, I end up switching back to my Pixel 4 XL.

You can turn that on or off and even adjust how much you want the picture to be filtered with a slider Screenshot_20200808-111929_Camera.jpeg
