Note 21 Ultra?

When it comes to the FPS, I think most should just do a FDR here and there on any of the under screen FPS. Everytime there's a new phone or new OS there are always posts that the FPS is fixed.

Just my thought of the day.

This is good for me because it will keep me from trying to buy another phone I don't need so early. Lol

If they do continue the note in 2022 I am hoping this will give them time to find others ways to make the note standout again since they've given the S series most of the note features.

I doubt they will bring it back as a stand alone phone. I'm betting it will be part of the S series.

If they continue on the path of the S pen being a accessory you buy and it's not built in for the future phones, I'm guessing the S pen will die also.

I agree that it's unlikely after these comments but DJ Koh never actually said there wouldn't be one, but rather a challenge. That second article doesn't quote him like the other articles I've read.

This should help folks out in deciding what to do later this year rather than wait for something to never appear.

I don't think it's a challenge and in another article they also implied it wasn't because of the semiconductor shortage. I think it's simply them testing the waters on how their other "super premium" phones will fare without a Note taking some of those sales. I think it's clear where their focus has been and it hasn't been on the Note.

So, we need to answer them by NOT buying any of their EXPERIMENTS! Then maybe they'll realize what they had with the Note???

I seriously doubt another Note will see the light of day. Not in its current form anyway. They didn't add pen access to the S line up just to be cute lol.

Will just mean I keep the N20U daily a little longer but buy more play devices in the interim .

Mmm , what will be coming out about then ........pixel 6XL ? 9TPro ? Fold 3?

Now that I used the adb SW mod to enable QHD+ at 120 Hz on my Snapdragon Note 20 Ultra, I'm not in as much of a rush to upgrade. I'll probably wait until next year and see what's on offer, whether that be a Note 21 Ultra or equivalent S model or an S21 Ultra with S-pen Pro if I can live with storing it in a case. I'll see what the Z Fold 3 has to offer later this year, but I'm sure they'll still be available when the 2022 flagships launch in Q1, so I'll know all my options. Unless, I decide I really want the fold and have to have 512 Gb capacity (if offered) since those tend to sell out fast...At some point my wife will get my Note 20 Ultra since she has a real need for object eraser and it's not supported in her Note 10+ One UI 3.1 update (just installed today).

I like how he says we will not let the Note users down, erm I think he already has with no Note this year!

He could make up for it with a flat screen, wider aspect ratio, reinstatement of micro SD card support and the headphone jack, add a high quality DAC like the LG phones, put in 6,000 mAh battery, just make the phone a bit thicker. Thinness is not everything. Fold phones are plenty thick and heavy. Oh, port over the remaining s21 Ultra features, including the upgraded fingerprint sensor. I'd buy that phone in a heartbeat.

S Pen isn't going anywhere, Samsung owns part of Wacom and has integrated it into a wide range of products including tablets, chrome books, and laptops.

They even mention a Note next year. I'm betting this sets them up to do one flagship launch a year by launching the S series and Note series side by side in the spring. The Note would probably become a variant of the S Ultra, but there are probably enough S Pen users for Samsung to justify it.

When I say the Spen will die I mean that if they make it an accessory to the note like they did the s21U instead of built in like the note series, the Spen stands a good chance to die. If people don't buy it, the Spen will die. Note users have become accustomed to a built in Spen, why would we want it a carry around.

I myself do not think samsung will release a stand alone note with the S series, I think it will become part of the S series, S ultra will be the note. I think that is why the S21U has Spen support, it's the transition period, even though IMO they botched it up by making it an accessory. The article says they are going to continue building on the Spen experience, they didn't say they were going to release a note next year, that could mean transition over to the S series.

Either way, right now it's just theories, we will have to wait til next year to see what they actually do. I just put a theory out there, who knows what samsung will do.

I think Koh is talking their "current launch timeline"... which does NOT go deep into 2022! I can't believe they'd attempt to pass off a new Note with an sPen as an accessory and no silo to store it in - if they do, they've LOST me! Might just as well have the flat screen of the S21 (S22?)!

I swear Samsung wants to get rid of the Note as top of the line to sell their fold a phones nobody wants. I've never even seen one in the wild.

I have the fold 2, waiting for the fold 3 providing it has the S pen built in and would love the rumored under screen camera. I never use the front camera so I'd rather have it hidden, better yet not there.

I think folding phones are coming, it's just like any other new tech, it's expensive at first. Like flossy says, you pay to play. The fold 2 is a solid phone

I would bet if the fold sold for the same price as the note it would sell good

Man I love my Fold... In no rush to replace it... And please no under screen camera let's improve on it towards Ultra level... They are hinting at no Note this year but not eliminating it.. We shall see when the time comes... But I won't leave my Fold for a Note.. That's me! Choices are good...
