I am experiencing problems with viewing or saving email attachments received via the stock email app. The app version is "email 4.2". The account is a Microsoft exchange account. Whenever I try the preview or save button from an email with an attachment I get the error "Unable to save. Not enough memory".

I have tried deleting email cache, as well as rebooting in between. Also tried deleting the exchange account and recreating but still get the same error.

I have also tried clearing system cache.

I have no problems with the Gmail app, only with the stock email.

This was working up till a few weeks ago (I haven't had time to look into out till now). Problem occurs with a range of different sized attachments including very small (36k). I don't recall any updates occurring for the email app before the problem started.
My device is Rooted SM9005
Android 4.4.2

I believe I have 2.7Gb of internal memory free.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central!

Could it be because you are rooted? Some kind of security feature on the exchange server?

Thanks fire the response.

I don't think rooting is the problem. Phone had been rooted since day one, close to 1 year ago and had been working till recently.

Also, I just added an IMAP account to the email app and that account gives the same error.

Cheers
