I concur w/ everyone else. Note 2 had a better antenna then the Note 3.
Anything is possible, but the actual physical hardware radio antenna is different on my Note 3 from the Note 2. This I know for sure, on the Sprint versions at least. How do we know that it's the antenna and not the carriers attenuating (tunning down) the signal?

No, neither the Note 2 or Note 3 is spark inable on the Sprint network. The Note 4 will be the first. But what was disappointing is the Note 2 antenna is dual band while the Note 3 is only signal band. It was a step backwards. Huge controversy last fall, if any of ya'll remember. That would make sense since the Note 2 isn't Spark enabled and the Note 3 is right? Or was the 2 also enabled? If I'm remembering correctly it wasn't.
I guess most people "got by" rather than were thrilled with the reception. Different hardware for different regions and carriers of course. I haven't been following the Note 4 forum too avidly, but it seemed most ex Note 3 owners think it is a step up (it couldn't be a step down!).I stumbled upon this thread via a Google search. I have had reception issues with my Note 3. Calls go directly to voicemail. Data signal drops where I've never had them before. I've had a refurb sent to me and still the same problems. I'm on Verizon. I did a device payment plan and the phone is paid off as of this month. I love Samsung hardware, but I am on the verge of going to Motorola. I had zero issues the Note 2 nor the Droid RAZR MAXX before that.

Hands down my reception is way better with my note 4 that goes for wifi, data and cell phone reception note 3 sucked I would be in Lowe's or home Depot and have no signal with gn3 but with my gn4 I have 2 to 3 bars in the same places!

Little has been promised about improved Note 4 call performance, other than mentioning better noise cancellation when talking in noisy surroundings. I only hope that the Note 4 has a better radio/antenna and that the new metal frame doesn't interfere with reception. (Remember the original IPhone?) In that regard will the all plastic Edge be better?

I have a Note 4 and my data connection recently started giving me fits. I got a new sim card and a new back door is on the way. I have been wracking my brain as to what is wrong and for a brief second today wondered if my bling metal case was causing my problems which only recently started. I don't remember exactly but it hasn't been too long that I switched from my Incipio to the bling case. I just took off the bling case, which I love, and will see if this is the issue.
