Note 3: reading mode and smart scroll not functioning

I enabled the reading mode and smart scroll but the page dosent scroll when i tilt the phone.need advice

I think it only works with selected apps. For instance, I think the built-in browser can use it. I use Chrome though. You know that 'eye' symbol in the status bar? I've never seen that active. It's always grayed-out for me. I have all those fancy functions switched off these days, including motion controls and hand gestures.

I first saw that reading mode on Samsung tablets in stores last summer, when they were on JB4.2.
I have had my Note 3 for 3 months almost, but cannot detect any difference really, given it says it won't be active for all apps.
Has anyone noticed if it makes any difference on the 5.7 screen?
I'm sure I noticed a difference on the Note 8.0 and Tab 3's I never bought.
They had larger screens, better for reading, but a much lower pixel density, so maybe Samsung just left it in there for the Note 3. I think I saw a difference on the Mega 6.3 as well.
Saying that I haven't got to reading books, just a few pages.

I read elsewhere on AC the eye scroll doesn't work for many people. It's supposed to read your eyes if you hold the phone still and run your eyes up or down.
I usually read with my phone flat on a table, or almost horizontally in my hand, so quite an angle. Who holds the phone straight to the face.

Just tried it again on the stock browser with all Smart features ticked.

Oh Yeah! It moved. Tried to stop it scrolling with my eyes only, but yes tilting it slightly works best. Otherwise my facial expressions were making me look a right manic ***** in the large coffee shop I'm in.
Best toy for me still is replaying a Surround Mode sphere shot by moving the screen around you with the gyro sensor so it seems you are still in that spot you recorded from.

I found your question to me on the other thread.


So you get it to work sometimes or not. I don't get it. If not I can walk you through how I got it on the stock browser. I haven't bothered with other uses yet. It's not really useful. It needs to be refined more.
It will impress a group of friends though. I think its on the S4 as well.
