Note 3: Screen protector?

I have always hated them because of the feel, how the screen looks and the fact I always get dust under them and end up throwing them out. I am considering the spigen tempered glass one but as I said I always get dust under them and annoys me more the getting scratches... If it was just like 10 or 20 bucks I would just go head first and buy them but for $40 I am curious do they detract from the screen, prohibit s-pen use and a way to get it perfect?

I am also curious about the Spigen GLAS.tR SLIM. The price has definitley been a deterent from purchasing, especially when there seem to be very good ones for less. I have seen the install video on their website and read reviews on Amazon but would like to also know about AC Forum members opinions, especially those who are using a Spigen Neo Hybrid or similar case. I am close on just buying it since I do have a 20 dollar gift card from amazon but idk is there a way to get it with no dust under the screen protector ?

That last phone that I actually had for a full 2 years was the iPhone 4 and after dropping it in concrete a bunch of times and only had 1 big gouge to the left of the home button I never felt the need for protectors

Go to Ebay and search Note 3 tempered glass screen protector. There are several to choose from. I got mine there for 7 bucks shipped. I even got one for my wife's S4 ( 7 bucks also) and she uses the neo hybrid (silver) case with no problems.

No. They do NOT detract from using the Spen. They are a little tricky to put on but patience is a virtue. They can be removed over and over to allow for straightening and perfection. As for dust, you can remove it, wash it with water and replace. The only drawback is you'll get little water bubbles under it that you can't remove right then as glass isn't flexible enough, but they WILL disappear after a few days.

But for 7 bucks with shipping, you can get two incase you screw up and still save a ton of money!

They only way to NOT get dust under anything is to be in a dust free environment. Try this:

Take your phone and all into a bathroom and turn the shower on hot. This will create steam. Wait for about 5 minutes for the steam to get real wet (and hot) then put on your screen protector. The steam knocks al the dust and small particles to clump and fall to the ground creating a dust free environment.

Tbh I don't trust them even if they come from reputable sellers because you get what you pay for and can easily be burned.... For a device I am paying around $780 dollars for tax included I feel more safe going for the $40 dollar one if I am going to get it

Yes, the shower steam method all the way. Have everything laid out on the counter in a systematic way and thoroughly wash your hands right before beginning the process. So, as for the protector itself yes we are aware of several different brands and with various price points.... and that info is certainly appreciated.... but info and experience about the Spigen in general would be great.

Wash hand and go to an area that's not too dusty to apply it. Have a peice of tape near you.... When you see dust on the protector, lift the protector and take the tape to remove it. Works for me everytime. You'll still get 'some' dust under there but it's not too bad.

If you aren't set on a tempered glass one, you should give the iShieldz one a try. It comes with a spray solution that you spray on the screen protector when applying it. Then you push the bubbles and liquid out. Harmless to the phone and works every time!

I have the mime tempered glass screen protector and it works great. I was able to install it with no dust but I was lucky. If you are worried about installing, buy it from a carrier, they will install it for you. I know Verizon and att sell them, perhaps others.

I decided to get the spigen glass one for 40 and I know it comes with the alcohol thing....is it safe ? I thought I read somewhere samsung doesn't want water on screen or stuff and would mess up the s pen functionality

I ordered 3 different glass screen protectors once I decided I'd had enough of the plastic zagg film i bought when I got my note in Feb. The first one I tried was a nillkin 9H, and I loved it. When placing it, i messed up and had to pull it off and reapply. Doing that left a little bubble in the top left corner that slowly starting getting under my skin. I had two more screen protectors, so I figured after a few weeks I'd try one of them.

The second one I tried was a cheap $7 off brand. It had horrible air bubbles all around the edges, and was about 2 or 3 mm slimmer than the actual phone's glass on both sides. I immediately took it off.

The third one I had was an iLoome flex protector. It looked and flexed like plastic, but was actually glass. It too had an issue with air bubbles (though that one was more my fault, and having a dog constantly trying to get petted while I was applying it). It also felt much less smooth than the other two, and though it was glass, actually felt more like plastic. I took that one off too, and reapplied the original nillkin. I immediately ordered two more from amazon and they were received two days later, and my phone is now perfect, no air bubbles, and my finger and spen slide smoothly over the surface.

I have the Gadget Guard Black Ice screen guard and it is crystal clear and was pretty easy to get on. No issues with dust or bubbles. Feels great and no issues with the S Pen.

I just got it and put it on.... and Going to return it because A) Didn't come with the jellies for the home button and even after putting it on I just don't like the feel of it ... I am just going to buy the illome for cheaper and maybe put it on or just put it in my sock drawer for when i decide to give it a go and get a otterbox commuter case
