Note 3: T-Mobile OTA KitKat is here!

Re: OTA T-Mobile KitKat is here!

Another thing I noticed with the update is there is more user ram available. 2.7gb to be exact.

Re: OTA T-Mobile Kit Kat is here!

Been there ....done that...........did not work for me. I even deleted the partition cache and nothing.

Bugs to report: excessive battery drain and didn't get the KitKat interface - left with TouchWiz. Had to install a KitKat simulation launcher from the PlayStore to get an interface close to KitKat.

Now if the SD card bug also exists then KitKat has destroyed my two main reasons for buying a Note 3 - mad crazy battery time and useful sd card. Before Kitkat I would charge to 100% in early evening and still have a charge percentage in the 90s by midmorning the next day using wi-fi - this morning I had 24% left so something is radically wrong. BTW Google says the battery drain bug is a manufacturer problem.. I heard Samsung had agreed going forward to leave Android closer to the stock experience so I wonder whether we have been sold out for the sake of Google's quest for Android purity.

I updated a couple of days ago. No drama really. Seems a bit quicker, not much though. Battery definitely draining faster though. Another weird thing I've found is YouTube running in the background a lot. I Ardley ever use it so it's not me. I've even rebooted and YouTube is running on restart. No idea.

I am in the midst of my third battery calibration, my first after kitkat. So far, the battery is on track to be better than before.

My previous battery calibrations got 7-8 hr screen on time over 48-35 hrs of usage (calibrations ended when battery drops below 10%).

So far, I got 5 hrs screen on time over 26 hrs with 49% left. Standby battery consumption is also low, 1% every 4 hrs.

I did have the excessive battery drain right after upgrade, I was told to charge it to 100, then reboot it. It seemed to have worked.

Today my note is going in and out of boot loops randomly. When I'm using it and when I'm not using it. It will boot loop for 20 minutes them boot up and work. I'm so glad that I ordered a replacement. T-Mobile told me that there are quite a bit of complaints about the same things and replacements going out. The notes are back to back order again.
