Torn between the 3 and 4. I'm just wondering if 1: the 4 gets faster 4G speeds?2: would it connect to wifi better over the 3? I don't have wifi where I live so I have to download my podcasts and other media files on weak public wifi connecrions(starbucks, wendys). Would the 4 be faster than the 3 in that area or no because they are both 802.11 ac? Does the snapdragon 800 vs 805 matter at all when downloading media via wifi?

None of that should matter when it comes to 4G or wi-fi download speeds, assuming neither of the phones have issues with their cell or wi-fi radios (and I've never seen any mentioned here on a regular basis). What matters is how good your 4G network is, or how good the broadband is behind the wi-fi connection.

I have heard on a few threads here and there that the Note 4 generally has better antennas than the Note 3. However, as the Note 4 is my first of the Note line, I have no way to confirm that personally.

I have both the Note 3 and the Note 4 currently and find that the download speed of both seem, in use, to be dependent on the 4G and/or WiFi strength and available bandwidth as discussed by B. Diddy above.
The choice of which to purchase IMO comes down to the enhancements in the multi-window options, the better screen specs, etc. not the 4G or WiFi radios. Your mileage may vary.

I've had both the N3 and N4 and I never noticed any connectivity or speed differences.

Sounds like Download Booster might be helpful to you? It's an option available on Note 4. Can not remember if Note 3 had it. But note 4 is a much better and more enjoyable device. I would go for note 4.

That depends on your carrier. AT&T removed it for us on the Note 3 and I don't hae it on my Note 4 either.
