Note 4 Anyone else underwhelmed?

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

Current rumours on the Note 4 are not getting me excited...
The higher resolution screen would be nice but nothing else is enough to separate me from my Note 3.

Well, I think it depends on the current phone that you have and whether or not you are eligible for an upgrade

For me, it's a no brainer. I have a GS3 and am eligible to upgrade, so it will be a big jump for me. If I had a Note 3, and was not eligible for an upgrade, it would be a BIG NO!

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

I'm waiting for the release to see exactly what the differences are between the Note 3 & 4 vs. the price. Amazon has the Note 3 for $99 on an AT&T 2 yr. upgrade so if the Note 4 is $300-400 (which is what I'm expecting on a 2 yr. upgrade) unless the Note 4 has substantial improvements over the 3 I'll likely get the 3. The one thing the 4 supposedly will have is fingerprint recognition which I'm thinking would be a very useful feature in the car for those of us that use a lockscreen. The other possible feature I like is the water resistant dustproof capability but since I use a maximum protection case I don't know if that makes much difference. Bottom line is I won't pay 3-4 times more for the 4 than the 3 costs.

I'm in a weird predicament. I needed a new phone so I picked up a used note 3 a week ago. But, I'm eligible for an upgrade as well.

I'm not sure if I'll upgrade now or wait another year for the next version. Sounds like most people here would wait another cycle.... But, if I had an old S3, I'd definitely get a Note 4.

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

If you are going to say you are underwhelmed they tell us what you expected or wanted to be there. What else is there to add to a Note. Screen, Processor GPU and CPU, metal frame, bigger battery, better batter life, better cameras. What else is there to add. Fingerprint sensor, HRM, UV Sensor (don't care either way on this one). I sold my Note 3 wished I had kept it and the only reason I didn't get another one is the Note 4 was coming. It fits the bill so far.

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

We don't even know the details on the new s pen features. Can't be underwhelmed when we have no idea what else it will include.

If you are eligible for an upgrade, depending on your terms, you might consider it. You can either keep your Note 3 as a back up or Sell it for $$$. I am keeping my GS3. I am going to turn it into a fancy MP3 player.

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

I just got my Note 3 a few months ago. From what I've seen, and from what I'm reading here, there are no major "oh, I just have to have that" changes. I think that I'll wait awhile. Also, I'm still discovering all the possibilities with my Note 3 and enjoying it. My personal feeling is that it is a wonderful device.

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

I don't get underwhelmed by rumors... I'd rather wait for the official announcement before judging..

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

yeah rumors are just that - nothing is fact till release date.

I have the Note 2, I signed on to a 2yr contract, with the plan from the start to upgrade to the Note 4 when my term expired...
Eagerly awaiting this phones release!

Its hard, but ill save judgement till September 3rd!

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

Wellll, let me say... I'm on Toro, (gnex) and this would be errrrr.. a big leap up for me? :p

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

The last Note I had was the Note II- absolutely one of my favorite phones. I ended up leaving for the Nexus 5, and then a month after that the LG G Flex. I love the Note series but the issue for me was that the N3 didn't have a tri-band radio (Sprint).

6+ in. screen (I know, probably not going to happen), SD805, TWiz "lite" and a tri-band radio would do it for me.

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

A tri band phone wld definitely do for me too. Anything else on top of that wld add to it as well...

Have note 3... will make a move up.

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

We need to wait until it's officially announced before saying its underwhelming or not a big enough boost over the Note 3. I loved my Note 3 but plan on sticking with Nexus or other unlocked, stock devices.

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

I'm not jumping the gun again on Samsung, I'll wait to see what it is at the event. I was hyped about the S5 which ended up being the Galaxy J, which I believe never released or at least in the states. So far the specs really haven't grasped me though.

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

I have no good reason NOT to get the note 4. My 3 is in excellent condition since launch day and with all my accessories I already have it sold for more than I need to purchase the 4,,even at full cost (many accessories lol), so I myself can not wait for launch day.

Note 3 SIZE IS EVERYTHING

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

I would like to see a Retina Scanner added so we could get rid of passwords that are constantly hacked, then I'll be standing in line for a Note 4!!!👍😉

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

Re: Anyone else underwhelmed?

Keeping my Note 3. The G3 tempts me more than the new Note.

Use LastPass with the fingerprint scanner and you are good to go.
