Note 4 camera and moving objects (i.e. kids)

I just downloaded the standard google camera and I have a smile on my face. This confirms this can be fixed with updates and is a post processing issue.

I have used a Note 1 for three years and never had this problem. My uncle's cheap Galaxy Ace never had this problem too. Somebody decided to add this *feature* cranking up the sharpness so high that it ends up like oil paint.

If you look at the standard Google camera pics in fact they have more noise. More black dots when you zoom in. But this makes a softer smoother finish that we are used to.

Lol, I'm talking about for movement in lowish light situations. The stock camera app is wonderful for most situations, but for movement CameraZoomFX and the Google Camera do a much better job of holding focus. I am not sure where Samsung is going wrong, but the camera has a very hard time holding focus, resulting in blurry photos too often.

It's just the image processing...probably the main reason I miss the iphone honestly...the damn camera.

Apple has got some serious R&D put into their image processing department.

Samsung also has some serious R&D in theirs. This phone takes some amazing shots!

Yes indoor shots with motion is bad on Note 4. I've tested several different camera apps, and found Google camera app to be best with setting HDR on and exposure to -2. Shot is grainy, but this can capture motions best. Another option is to just take UHD video, and pull frames from it, using UHD video as sort of "low light burst shots". UHD video is better than single still shots in being less grainy and also deliver high number of frames so you can be sure to capture exact shot you want.
