Note 4 destroyed by 6.0.1 update

Same issue as everyone with my Samsung Note 4 and the Android 6.01. My battery is new so now I'm going for a factory reset. Hope it will work. So mad after those moneygrubbing companies that fill the garbages with obsolete phones because of their OS updates.

I have the at&t version so it's boot locked :-( I just purchased a T-mobile motherboard so maybe the os won't be MM. And I'll turn off the auto updates. At least it won't be boot locked. We recently ported our numbers to T mobile when this issue started. I thought that at&t was acting like a jealous ex. :-)

My Note 4 910F, worked just fine after the update. Just saying. I used Samsung's Smart Switch software on the PC to upgrade it.

Welcome to Android Central! Moved from the Marshmallow forum to the Note 4 forum, since this is more likely to be a device-specific issue.

Does this all happen in Safe Mode as well? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28897. If not, then it's possible that some 3rd party app you typically install is causing the problems, perhaps because the Marshmallow update is causing conflicts with that app.

My problems are slightly different, it started out with rapid battery drain and then progressed to restarting a couple times, now I still have the rapid battery drain, but it shuts off randomly on its own even if the battery reads 93%. Add to that I frequently lose carrier signal. Before this update my phone worked so well! Now its useless for anything. I booted in safe mode and still the phone just shut off for no reason. So this is definitely MM update screwing things up!

Welcome to Android Central! That sounds like a failing battery. You'd have to bring it to a repair shop for a battery replacement, or consider upgrading your phone if the cost of battery replacement outweighs the actual value of the phone.
