Over the last few months my Note 4 has been acting really funny. First, it gets really hot at times and is turns off and wont come back on, even if its cooled down. Second, it keeps booting to a screen that says "Downloading . . . Do not turn off target!!" and stays on that screen for hours at a time. I honestly don't know what to do. I've done a hard reset to my phone on multiple occasions, sometimes 3 times in a day, and this is only a temporary fix for a day or so. I've cleared the partitions as well and nothing seems to help. I would greatly appreciate any advice and assistance with this issue.

Kindest regards.

Have you considered replacing the battery. Mine had numerous problems such as overheating, lockups, rebooting etc. Purchased a new battery and haven't had any issues since. I felt it was worth the little expense to see if that would work. I received that suggestion on a forum and kinda didn't believe it but I thought it was worth the cost since I still enjoy my Note4.

Rowlette,

Thank you for your suggestion. I actually changed out the battery about 6 months ago. I purchased an Anker battery. I wonder if I should purchase another one. If you don't mind me asking, what brand did you get and where did you purchase it from?

Regards,

This was happening to me. Anker replaced my batteries. I have also sent my phone in to Samsung for repair. I will keep you updated. I am using my S4 until I get it back. I am waiting on the Note 8 (had the Note 7).

so what ended up bein the issue? I'm gonna take a guess and say I bet they ended up putting in another motherboard. am I right? reason I say that is bc I've seen other ppl say that's what had to be done to their phones that this happened to.. which sux bc I jus bought a note 4 off eBay and it was, and still is having issues where it doesn't want to power on & when it does (after taking the battery out & holding the power button & putting the battery bk in about 100 times) it just shows the downloading Target msg. I've been searching 4 a fix but it seems like I'm out of luck & the money I spent on the useless phone!
