Note 4 NFC not working at all

Hi all,
I just bought a new Note 4 (I know... old phone, but brand new). Wanted some of it's specific features. Anyway...

I use a lot of NFC products. Both encoding and reading of various tags. I have several protocol tags available to me, so that isn't the issue.

My phone will not recognize ANY tags either written (encoded) or blank. I have gone through all of the internet searches I can find and nothing seems to address this issue. I've tried turning on and off both Android Beam and S Beam.. and yes, the NFC feature is turned on. Recently I have ordered a new battery as someone said that could possibly be the issue, though I doubt it.

I'm at a loss here. I encode hundreds of these at a time and use my phone to encode the odd one or two that don't write through my automated system.

Alrighty then. Tried a new battery to no avail. ANYONE have any ideas? Have contacted the company where the phone originated (on Amazon).

I am having the same trouble... I have had this phone for nearly a year now, but have never used NFC... I just got a camera with NFC capability and tried and tried to connect with no success. I was about to send the camera back when I thought to try someone else's phone, and it connected no trouble.

Have no idea what to try. I don't want to buy a new phone, it works flawlessly other than this.

Is it using a battery with NFC? (The NFC antenna is in the battery - if the battery doesn't support NFC - in other words doesn't have an NFC antenna - it won't work.) If you've replaced the battery - even if it claims to be a Samsung battery - it may not have an NFC antenna. If it's the original battery, make sure you have NFC enabled (an N in the notification area).

Oh FFS what halfwit designed the antenna inside the battery? I know Samsung have **** for brains but this is beyond ridiculous. Next phone isn't going to be Samsung for sure.

Would never have even thought that swapping batteries would have an effect on using NFC. Put my old battery back in and surprise NFC working again. Thank god for this site i would never have worked this out.
