Note 4 no volume adjustment on notifications

Hi all. I have noticed on my note 4 that i cannot adjust the volume of my notifications. Eg messages. It is either at full volume or vibrate. I can slide it to just before vibrate (lowest setting) but the actual volume is still max. I have tried different tones and all do the same. Is this a fault or something I'm doing wrong.

Welcome to Android Central! Are your notification tones and ringtones controlled by the same volume slider? If so, does the ringtone volume adjust appropriately?

Same volume buttons for ringtone and notifications. Ringtone however adjusts accordingly, unlike notifications
