Ive got a Note 4 and this morning was working fine... alarm went off, and normal screen came up and I swiped it off... Went and took a shower, but when I came back, hit the power button and the screen doesnt fire up.... The led notification light is blinking, and the bottom touch screen buttons are lit up. If it hit the power button it'll cycle all those button lights on/off as the phone turns on/off. At one point a secondary alarm I have set went off... And I swiped where the slide is to shut it off, would be on the screen... and the alarm went off, so the touch part of the screen is still working... But there is no visual at all!

Ive removed the battery and reinstalled with no luck... Also saw a video saying to hold power button for a minute or 2 to completely drain the phone when battery is removed... also didnt help.
When restarting, there is no screen from the start up/boot, etc
When I connect to my PC, I am able to access all the files, folders, etc...
Cant even do a data reset since I cant see the screens getting to it... and I dont think thats going to help, since it seems to be a hardware issue or at least seems to be to me...

I searched this forum with no luck, in addition to searching google, but havent seen any other previous mention of Note 4 screens taking a crap like this!!

Looking for any suggestions/ideas/comments that may help to get it working again.... I do have insurance/ext. warranty on the phone, but I HATE HATE HATE to end up with a refurbished phone!

ALSO, I really need to get to some information that is saved in the phone, but not accessible simply by looking at the files when connected to a PC.... IF I buy a HDMI adapter, will simply plugging it in allow me to see the screen on a TV? Or do I have to change settings on the phone first!?

Thanks in advance....

I would try removing the battery for a few minutes and then restart the device. If that fails then get an mhl adapter to connect to your TV

I had the battery pulled for about a half hour and then turned back on with no luck! I found the actual Samsung adapter at Best Buy... That said, is there any local retailers like Radio Shack, Walmart, etc that sells an MHL adapter that will work and not be $60?? I need to access this stuff asap and dont wanna wait for an online order.... So ill do that $60 at Best Buy if need be...

Did you routed the device?

No, the phone is not rooted...

IDK what the deal is... but the battery was pulled for 8+ hours while at work yesterday... Got out of work, put battery back in and same thing, no screen! Thought maybe a loose wire or something so shook the phone and tapped it on my steering wheel... Then it would come on for less than second and die! I kept doing that over and over, just trying to see if it'd stay on long enough to back up somethings... Finally, I was able to get it to stay on, so I set the screen timeout for 10 minutes... and then backed everything up...
Then shut it down to see if it would not restart w/o tapping on steering wheel, and it came back on work worked consistently since... with the exception of one time it wouldnt fire back up. Gave it a little tap and worked again!
Call me crazy, but I just dont see how a wire came loose in there... esp just sitting on my counter from time it worked first thing in AM till 30 minutes later......

WEIRD, but now im afraid its just going to happen again in a few days.. but I cant convince Verizon to replace it while its working thats for sure!
