I honestly thought he meant to apply the effect to the face. I am a graphic artist and restore photos in my own business. Applying a sepia effect to the white borders made no sense to me considering that it would just look yellow. So I just left it alone.
It seems there is no good solution to the image with such a strong border between the white and black. But you obviously aced it.

I thought the same thing. Instead of applying sepia to the top and bottom borders, why not just crop the image and get rid of them?

I thought the same thing. I make all of my own wallpapers. I use Photoshop CS5 Ext. and CS6 Ext. every day. I have been a Graphic artist since PS 5.

Thank you....this one I got from G+ it's by NiklasRage aka DaveMFP. I also use a lot by Ricky Laughlin he's also on G+ and you can find his collections in the play store ..the Ricky Laughlin Collection and Optimal Zooper. I sometimes modify the colors and weather, my favorites are by Hamsterwheel and you can find them on her blog Keep Calm and Berry On and Kelly Kretcheck who's on G+.
