Is the G4 a worthy upgrade from a Note 4? Or should I wait for the rumored G4 Pro, or even the G5? FYI my reason for wanting to move on from the Note 4 is the software jank on Lollipop. All opinions are welcome. Thanks.

I've switched back between a Note 4 and a G4 for a few weeks now. What I decided was that the camera is miles better then the Note 4 and a launcher is unnecessary. I did find the battery is way better on the Note 4 though

I had the Note 4 as my daily driver for about 6 months and while I found the screen, battery and camera great. The lag was bad enough to jump to the G4(and this was after a reset). I do think the Note 4 has a better screen(brightness mostly) and better battery. With some tuning, the G4 battery is much better than what I was getting initially. I now can get 4 hours of SOT easily, as long as I am in a decent cell coverage area.

I had the note 4, switched. Didn't regret it at all. Camera is much better. Battery life is fantastic! And I'm very very happy. No lags. Very solid device. I just wish the screen were larger, like 5.8 or 6 inches. Hopefully we'll get something like that soon.

I agree. I had SUPERB battery life, I can go a full 2 days with my G4. I have wifi and great coverage at home. this last week I was at the beach, and I thought my device was faulty - battery was draining SUPER fast. I had to charge it twice a day. I was planning on reformatting it once back home. I get back on Friday afternoon, and Saturday I was busy. So with 20 minutes of on screen time, and 12 hours of standby time... 94% left :)

cell coverage is UBER important.

I switched from a Note 4 as well. Overall I loved my Note, except for two things:

1). The GPS was horrible while in motion. It wouldn't hold the lock. I tried so many troubleshooting steps and did 3 or 4 warranty exchanges. It was useless. I travel quite a bit in addition to going places around the Kansas City metro that I'm not as familiar with, so GPS is a must.

2) The lag. It got to a point where I wasn't using the recent apps button to switch between apps anymore because it was just faster to go home and select another app. The lag was also noticeable when trying to view a pic that I just took.

Overall the G4 definitely feels like an upgrade to me.vvthe Note 4 camera was no slouch, but the G4 camera is simply spectacular. I got some amazing panoramics when I visited the Grand Canyon a few weeks ago. I also get virtually no lag on the device. Switching between apps is zippy again. My only gripe is the battery life, but at least I got the free battery and charger from the promotion! That's already come in super handy. I also love the look of the tmo brown leather :).

I was using the note 4 for about 6months and it was a great phone. I'm now on the g4 and I would say it is slightly better in almost every way but not a ton better in anyway. Overall I am very happy with the G4, and haven't had any of the issues with it that some have. The battery life has been pretty equal to the Note 4 I'd say.

How's the software on the G4? That's the only part that has me second guessing a purchase.

I actually prefer it to Samsung's software but they are pretty comparable . I personally like it enough that I'm not going to use a launcher.
