Note 4 vs Nexus 6

And I still don't understand why people think Touch Wiz is ugly.

Nothing but Note! A little rim, some backboard, but mostly Note!

I currently have an S3 and am going back and forth between a Note 4 and Nexus 6 right now.

I've tried out both in stores and have to say that I am completely tossed up. The Note 4's build quality is amazing-the metal makes such a difference and it feels like a solid, durable phone. The Nexus 6 looks nice but doesn't feel as solid, perhaps because it does not lay flat on surfaces and because its width makes it feel gargantuan.

But, on the software front, I am leaning towards the N6. I don't mind TouchWiz, barring some software inconsistencies, but I just feel for something different. I don't think TouchWiz is ugly and I'm actually impressed by how it looks with Lollipop underneath, but I also like the look and feel of stock Lollipop.

I don't think this is going to be an easy decision but I'm happy I have the decision. Two years ago, the Galaxy S3 was the only Android phone in the US worth buying. Today there are so many options.

For a really large phone the Note 4 is far easier to hold onto and keep in hand than the Nexus 6. Yes Lollipop is "better" than TouchWiz but there are NO phablet features and the Nexus 6, while you get real & useful phablet features on the Note 4. Note 4 also has a far superior.camera and a Qi back accessory. Good luck on your choice.

I do not think it is ugly, maybe too busy? I have owned seven galaxy S and Note devices. As they just added more and more features and more and more bloat (ATT and Samsung) they just added too many features I would never use and slowing down the UI in the process. I started liking the simple clean look of the nexus more. I have come to despise bloatware because I will never use it and cannot delete it without rooting. If the Note 4 came in an unlocked US model, I might be interested but not with all that att bloat.

having owned note 2, 3 than 4 and now nexus for me note 3 to the 4 no big deal as far as look and function not sure its worth the price bump, Thought Id get a nexus to try for a change sold note 4 kept note 3 as backup running nexus, like the phone, didnt use the s pen so dont miss it. miss the removable storage but getting used to that. in short went Nexus for a new experience is all.

I think every Android fan should own a Nexus at some point. This will be the first Nexus in 4 years I will not purchase. And that's because of my Note 4. And that's saying a lot because I have loved Nexus devices.

Are you trying to be satire?

All of those screenshots are ugly, wrong use of colors, dated UI. Especially that dialer, it looks so... ugly.
I don't think so. Guess we have different tastes.

The Nexus 6 apparently has screen burn in issues, very average battery life and a giant footprint compared to the Note 4.

How could anyone have a nexus 6 long enough to say that it has screen burn in issues? That being said I had the N2, N3, and N4 and loved them but I really like my nexus 6 on verizon, some issues with no visual voice-mail or data while on calls but I hope the latter can be fixed. After a few days I really noticed how much more fluid the Nexus is versus the note 4.

Well, I could take it and ordered the Note 4. I will do my own comparison between the two. I had the Note 12.2 tablet and just didn't like it enough to keep it. I have read that Touchwiz is more improved in the Note 4. The main thing I want to compare is battery life compared to the Iphone 6 Plus. I've read people say it's better and I find that hard to believe. If it truly is I'll report back.

I have the 6+ and the Nexus 6. The iPhone will do better in battery performance.

Same situation with nexus 4 which is still a great device BTW running lollipop. Got the note 4 as well.

Well, it all boils down to how you use the thing... As a productivity tool, the Note 4 is still pretty much king. If I was a lawyer, doctor, clerk, someone who takes a lot of notes and the like. The Nexus on the other hand is more like a media consumption device. Large screen, loud stereo speakers that flank you if you hold it sideways. The Note 4 is a small tablet and the Nexus 6 is a large phone. They are the same size, just an entirely different approach.

Now, personally, I've had some not-so brief moments behind the wheel of a Note 4 and its nice and all, just dated and drab. I hate Samsung's strange obsession with greens and muddy blues.... It's like the Little Mermaid puked all over the phone. I don't think I could stomach looking at it the entire time. But that's just me.... the Note 4 is still a top notch device, but so is the Nexus 6. Again, it depends on what you want to get out of it.

I have both those phones also. I'm thinking the 6 + will be better (comparing to the Not 4) but I will see for myself.
