Note 4 Watching Youtube videos in highest resolution...

When I hit the 3 vertical dots, it gives me a bunch of low res options up to 720, or else an automatic option. Is it the automatic option that will play in 4k?

Thats a bit of an issue across all Android devices now. It seems like 1080p youtube has been removed.
I have 1080p in the 3 dot menu on my Z3 but if I update its gone. So I have solved it for now by not updating my OS or youtube app all together.

You would think the carriers would be pushing for the higher resolution videos....more data used!

Well that's weird, you would think this is app specific and should have nothing to do with the phone it's installed on. On my Note 3 with the latest version of the YouTube app I do get the 1080p option.

You sure about that? Check for an update within the play store.. YouTube may be asking you to update.

I updated on my Note 3 when I had it and lose 1080p as well.

It's a known issue and there was supposed to be a way at one point to enable it but not sure how. I had read it on flip board awhile back

I'm not seeing it yet.. No app update yet either. It may be coming soon though.

Strange. All I did when I read the G3 post was to enter 1440p Video in the search box and clicked on one, and sure enough the 1080p option was back. Tried a second time just now, still good.
