When I hit the 3 vertical dots, it gives me a bunch of low res options up to 720, or else an automatic option. Is it the automatic option that will play in 4k?
Well that's weird, you would think this is app specific and should have nothing to do with the phone it's installed on. On my Note 3 with the latest version of the YouTube app I do get the 1080p option.

You would think the carriers would be pushing for the higher resolution videos....more data used!

I was able to update Youtube, but still only getting 720 as max option.
Not happy at all about that. Technology, moving backwards (because we/they know that's what you want!)... thanks Google/Youtube!
A member of the G3 forum just noticed that the 1080p option is back.

I'm not seeing it yet.. No app update yet either. It may be coming soon though.
Strange. All I did when I read the G3 post was to enter 1440p Video in the search box and clicked on one, and sure enough the 1080p option was back. Tried a second time just now, still good.
