Note 5 data deleted using Smart Switch back up
hi all, I am using a new Note 5 64G (bought just a month ago). I used Smart Switch to transfer all my data from Note 2 to Note 5. It is working ok until I tried to backup all the data for the past month by using Smart Switch on a Windows PC. After the software confirms backup 100% done, I found that the photos that I took on the new phone in the past month are ALL GONE! Including some important photos that I took during my visit to Japan last week. I am living in HK and the service support here is terrible. Albeit they have to admit that it was Smart Switch bug, they will not support any data recovery. Since I do not want to root my device to damage the warranty, Samsung's "this is not my problem" stance is terrible. I am sure they have way to recover it. So my problem here:
1. I want to tell everyone to avoid using that stupid Smart Switch software (I learned it the hard way, it is easier to backup your data as if you are using it as a USB device).
2. I want to seek everyone's help in suggesting ways I can recover the fotos by not rooting the device (tried a few data recovery software on the net but not work at all)
3. I want to tell everyone that Samsung is letting me down especially they are now forcing us to use a device without SD card but deleting valuable data on your device by providing their buggy software.
I have already made sure that those data were not deleted by myself:
1. I did not touch file manager (all things taken by the new phone are gone [almost 100 photos], so it will not be a matter deleting individual ones by human error)
2. I did not press on "restore" on smart switch because I can find the backup image on the directory, (but the image also dont have photos taken by the new phone away
3. Photos transferred from the old phone are still sitting on the phone without any problem.
4. I showed the photos to my friend before the backup and they were still there until that stupid "backup"action.
This is the first time in my life a backing up become a data loss action. Samsung really gone out of their mind.
