my note 5 sometimes gets hot at the upper back of phone. why is it doing that? Should i get another note 5? will it affect the performance in the long run? is this common for other owners with the note 5? and this happens frequently while watching videos, and while looking at facebook and such.

Welcome to Android Central! How hot does it get? It the CPU is working fairly hard, things can get pretty warm. This can happen with processor-intensive apps (like complex games) or activities (like installing a whole bunch of apps), poor cell signal (as the phone is expending more energy to try to boost the signal), and misbehaving apps.

That's how hot it gets and this is from apps that are not even resource heavy.

The battery temp look reasonable, but the CPU temp is a bit crazy. Bring it back to the store and see if they'll give you a replacement.

Cpu z has a known bug in the Celsius to Fahrenheit conversion.

Wow--that seems like a pretty basic function to mess up.:-\
