Note 5 thinks power cord being plugged and unplugged

Phone was on nightstand and not plugged in to charge last night. During the night it started making a repeated noise which was the "charging" tone. Was going off 3 times every 10 seconds or so. I restarted phone and it lessened, then went away on its own.

Anyone else seen this? Just got the marshmallow update on at&t.

I'd check the charging port and try to clean it with a brush just in case. If this still happens, try booting up your phone in Safe Mode. I know it coincides with the update, but I've seen phones with the same behavior just as their USB ports are about to fail or are just not clean enough. If you see Car Mode pop up all of a sudden, then it's definitely the USB port.

My tablet started that the other night. Try a new cable. Fixed it for me.
