Note 5 to Nexus 5x

Just made the switch a week back. No regrets so far. Performance wise as fast as the Note 5, for my usage. Mainly calls, whatsapp, text and emails on 2 accounts. Battery lasts me longer than the Note 5 for the same usage.

Note 5 started feeling too bulky on the go for me. 5X is perfect, feels light and is made of plastic yet feels substantial and solid. This is my first Nexus device and I'm completely blown away on how speedy stock android is.

Sweet. I consider switching due to lag, battery life, bloatware and lack of software updates for the Note 5.

I have a Note 5 and also own a Nexus 6P. I had the 5x but almost immediately returned it due to lag. I also happen to prefer the larger screen size since I watch a lot of video on my devices.

The new update may have fixed the lag issues though, so that definitely makes it a tougher call. Personally, if stick with the Note 5.

I just got the Nexus 5X from FedEx and I love it! The fingerprint scanner is way better than the Note 5s fingerprint scanner and launching the camera with a double press of the power button along with being able to unlock the phone with just placing your finger on the fingerprint scanner makes it a keeper.

All upgraded to March release? A must for 5x.

The Nexus 5x is actually faster than my Note 5. No bloatware and fast updates makes this a killer phone to own. The only bad thing is you have to buy new chargers and docks and such since the Nexus 5 X is only USB Type C.

You're can always buy a Meenova Dash Micro Mini Type C to supplement for the lack of storage if you like storing alot of media. The usb-c to usb-c cable is a bummer because it makes transfering files close to impossible that and very few to no stores carry usb-c cables. I found that out the hard way. LOL.

If I was coming from a Note, I'd lean toward the 6P because of the size. Note to 5X is a huge difference in real estate. Having said that, I went 5X simply because I wanted a smaller phone. I was tired of the large Android phones and I have an iPhone 6S Plus as my work phone so it wasn't needed as my personal cellphone.

If you're looking to downgrade the size of your phone, the 5X is a great little device and I recommend it over any other 5.2" display. The absence of bloatware is enough for me to stay with the Nexus line from here on out. I've had Sammys and LGs for the past few years and I'm done with them. The Nexus phones have opened my eyes to a world without bloatware.

Those who are saying the 5X is laggy, that's not been my experience. Especially coming from Sammys and LGs that are VERY laggy. I hate lag and keep an iPhone around for those times when I'm sick of the lag. So far, no lag on the 5X and I'm still using it.

Nexus 5X here, unlocked and rooted using Wug's toolkit, running Pure Nexus ROM, smooth as butter.

I want to try nexus 5x (Been using Sammy phones till now), but not sure how to manage accounts like what's app, viber, call logs and regular messaging when switching between devices. How do you folks manage that? .

I have the Note 5, but just bought the 5X. I love the Note 5, but like all big phones, the size wears on you a bit. Liked the idea of a smaller phone, although its still too large for a 5.2 inches. LG could've done a better job with the bezels like with the G2, same size, yet even more manageable than 5X. I'm not here to bash the Note 5, its an amazing device. But for the price and smaller size, the nexus 5x was a good choice as a change of pace for me.

I decided to try pure Android and a smaller one of it and purchased 5X. It's been two days and absolutely love the experience. Few things I miss but not much. Below are the things.

1. My beloved S-pen (Google keep and Google voice covers that a bit)
2. Screen (as long as I don't see that amoled beauty am fine with 5x screen).

I am enjoying fluid experience and transitions on 5X for now and will stay with this for a while.

Yeah Note 5 screen is just a marvel, big and bright. S pen is unique to Note 5. 5x is great for one handed use, and pure android. One is a phablet the other a more conventional phone. You decide
