Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: T-mobile rep advised me against the Note 5

I plan on paying it off on a couple of months and keeping it, whether I upgrade or not.
It may work out fine for you. However, probably 99% of people do not use JOD that way. My point was for people that use the plan the way it was intended (don't pay it off and upgrade 1-3 times a year), it doesn't make a lot of sense to pay the extra money for a rental.

Actually I know several that do JOD that way. They can at least sell the device and pay that money on a new device and pay less for the new device. There is no interest or finance charges of any kind, cheaper than putting the phone on your credit card.

Re: T-mobile rep advised me against the Note 5

Honestly, you should give the Note 5 a shot.

I never really listen to those reps because they don't really understand my usage pattern. I do take their advice, but more often than not, they don't actually know how I use my phone.

When I was deciding on my next phone, some guys suggested getting an S6 over a G4, mainly due to the better hardware. While I do like the GS6's hardware and a MASSIVELY better software (bar memory management), I chose the G4 eventually, for one BIG reason.

I'm a heavy media consumer and store lots of data on my phone. The G4's SD card slot is a big deal to me.

But, like I said, play with the Note 5 and see whether it fits your usage pattern.

Re: T-mobile rep advised me against the Note 5

I've learned one thing in dealing with Verizon reps and now AT&T reps - I generally know at least 100x more about the products they're trying to sell me than they do. Most of these people are not tech heads like we are. They don't go to blogs. They don't research the products. They only do what they're told to do. Sometimes they're told to push specific products. This is retail in America we're talking about here. Like many others have said here, I am my own reviewer. I don't listen to what these people tell me. I go in, knowing what I want to try out and don't let them tell me one way or another. If you want to try the Note, try it out. There is no harm in returning it and sticking with your iPhone at all.

Re: T-mobile rep advised me against the Note 5

I have had the note 2-3 ran back to apple (now w 6+ almost s year) debating on selling for 450 and grabbing that note 5 lol
My ONLY concern is battery... Iphone I can take my mall and pay for s new battery .. Done! To fix.. Cheaper. Just rummaging through my head but I know android phones.
I miss it miss customizing it and love learning all the cool tricks I look up on YouTube for lol
I guess I just love phones and am addicted wish I was rich! LoL

I'm more likely to think that the rep may have been working from personal experience. And the nature of tech, especially smartphones is that ones mileage WILL vary. Perhaps the cellular antennas in one region will favor one piece of hardware over another. Production runs can have very minor quality swings which will result in batches of phones being better or worse than the average. I know one tech who swears by HP computers, and another that one will not touch them with a ten foot pole, and both are good at what they do. It's the nature of things that you can't go by any one or even two personal assessements. Also remember that different people have different priorities. One person may have issues with software they bought on one platform vs another, and it's a thing for them because they value software more than minor differences in hardware performance. Not everyone grinds with the same axe.

I switched from an iPhone 6 to the Note 5, and I couldn't be happier. This is the best phone I've owned period. It blows the iPhone away in performance, battery life, screen resolution, camera and ergonomics...pretty much everything. The only exception I would say is Apple has an excellent ecosystem.

My exact experience dealing with AT&T. Now that I'm dealing with T-Mobile, except for one store, my experience is the opposite.

The iPhone loving manager of a store figured out an issue I was having on my S6 Edge that Samsung couldn't figure out. In another T-Mobile store, I listened to a rep help another customer decide between the iPhone and an Android, based on questions about what they want for a phone and how they want to use it. Which is exactly what they should do.

Re: T-mobile rep advised me against the Note 5

iPhone 6 can't compete with the note 5. Not on any level.
I really think the sales person was biased and you should seek another rep.
Oh, and I assume you expected the monthly charge to increase from the $15 you are paying now?

Re: So there are 0 people here waiting to see what the iPhone 6S Plus will be like before buying Not

I have iPhone I didn't jump yet my reasons r battery n apps I'll wait n see as well.
I'll likely keep this phone or get the note 5... Iphone 6s plus has to have things for me to change to just a 6s plus but waiting it out

Nothing about the iPhone 6S is compelling me to upgrade. Same boring design, same low res screen.
Just a bit faster than last years model with an upgraded 12MP camera.

I'm not compelled to switch to an iPhone this year either but the iPhone is not boring or the res of the screen is not an issue. IPhone and iOS are better thought out and better implemented for the majority of users then android by a long margin. Less complexity is a good thing and apple understands that.

The new Iphone 6s Anyone pumped about it vs the Note 5 and buying it?

Just wondering will any of you consider buying the Iphone 6s or 6s plus over an Note 5 or S6.

How did today's unveiling of it impress you? I'm not really impressed.

This Ipad Pro is also supposed to have something like the Spen too.

Re: The new Iphone 6s Anyone pumped about it vs the Note 5 and buying it?

Work may update our iPhone 6/6+ with the 6S/6S+ if they have increased the RAM (current limitation).
It won't be replacing my Note 5. I saw nothing on the iPhone 6S/6S+ that brings it close to the capabilities of the Note 5. :p

Re: The new Iphone 6s Anyone pumped about it vs the Note 5 and buying it?

I'm definitely not impressed at all. Apple is so far behind with the "technology" that they bring to the table. the biggest joke was the live photos, and the 3d touch or whatever they call it. as if android hasn't been doing it forever. of course it will sell because its apple. i will say i do like the rose gold color but thats about it. as far as the iPad pro, the apple pencil was pretty neat, the idea of not having to switch brushes to get different strokes was cool, but not enough to sell me on it. Over the last 6 years I've owned two apple devices with my current one being the iPhone 6 plus, which will be my last, as i am I'm looking to purchase the note 5 as we speak.

The 3D touch functions were pretty cool. The new CPU and GPU look like they'll smoke qualcomm and Sammy's Exynos too. The pricetag on the 64 and 128 plus is going to be stupid though

That's your opinion on the OS.
As for the screen, the iPhone Screen is a 720p compared to a 1440 x 2560 pixel screen of the S6 & Note 5.
Those are differences you can see and measure.

True. Same way when buying guns and cars for me. I usually know what I'm buying already when walking in there. When I bought my 2012 Mustang gt back in 2011 I knew more about it than the sales guy did.

No thanks. There is no compelling reason to switch or even consider buying one. I love my note 5 and won't be following the Apple herd to line up for it.
