Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

I will say this much. If I ever do switch to iPhone I think I'll be hanging out on MacRumors forums. The few visits I've paid to iMore forums gave a whole new appreciation for the job the mods do here. How a small group of half a dozen members can overrun an entire forum can get to 10-30k+ posts being snide to newcomers on a whim with absolute impunity is beyond me but hey what do I know. At least there's not a little club of unruly sweethearts favored and left alone by the mods at AC.

Seems 3rd party keyboard issue may not be fixed in 9. That's one reason I dumped my iPhone. But found phone calls and Bluetooth is far better on the s6. Plus just bored to tears is osx and it has hardly changed in 5 years.

If 3d touch was introduced by Sammy it would be called a gimmick. It basically does what the galaxy s4 did with their "finger hover" feature (similar to what the s-pens) have always done. Preview pics, magnification etc... Finally, the A9 will be fast because it's running iOS, but in technical terms it's not going to be faster then the Exynos and Qualcomm processors.

Re: The new Iphone 6s Anyone pumped about it vs the Note 5 and buying it?

The 3D touch functions were pretty cool. The new CPU and GPU look like they'll smoke qualcomm and Sammy's Exynos too. The pricetag on the 64 and 128 plus is going to be stupid though

You can almost count on apple to bungle or limit it. Look at homekit still not usable 3rd party keyboards nope after a year.

I remember when the A8 first came it it destroyed everything at the time on benchmark scores except nVidia's new chip, I don't expect anything different this time around

Well, it will be interesting to see

It depends on what you're looking for.

I'm no Apple fan, but I'll be playing with the 6S Plus for a bit.

That said, it doesn't bring anything much over my current LG G4, and as such, I'll be keeping it.

This article sums it up very well, I'm impressed how the author actually told it like it was with examples. He made some points that I made earlier on this very thread! If more articles were written like this the public would be more educated on their tech and not brainwashed by illusion. The only issue with the article is the conclusion, which basically goes against all his points. Read and come to your own educated conclusion.

One thing an iPhone user should know before switching is because Android has so many more features and options there is a LOT to learn. This forum is your friend for that. So is google search. I have an iPhone 6 plus and a Note 3. I use the Note 3 because I like to customize. If you just want set it up and forget it you may prefer iPhone. Personally I absolutely HATE using iTunes or even having it on my computer. I like the Android App Store way better. I find it much easier.

I have a Motorola Droid Turbo for personal use and an iPhone 6 plus for work. Agree with everything you said. To add, I don't understand why everyone says ios performed better than Android. While the 6+ is an awesome phone in a lot of respects, I find that my Turbo outperforms it in nearly every respect. I've had more apps crash on my 6 plus in 2 months than I've had crash on my Turbo in 10 months. As far as battery, standby is better on the 6 plus. Just epic standby battery life. But my Turbo gives me better battery in terms of actual use.

I am most likely going to sell my 6plus and grab the note I'm on Att next I owe 300$ I will sell it for 350-4 and I'm moving on soon...
No selling my daughters iPhone 6 and moving on. The plus will remain... I'll let her use it she's 13 i dont know if I feel too good about it but she's using the 6.
She did however mention she would like the s6 I almost died! She was all Iphone her whole life! I told her she could do s5 tops.

At that age all that matters is what her friends have and what the "in" kids have.

iPhone 6s plus or note 5

Really would like some help in deciding what phone to get. Currently have a iPhone 6 and like it but want some thing bigger. Have seen the note 5 and really love the screen and the fact that it has a larger screen than the ip6 + but the device is smaller. Like the idea of the stylus and I have had android phones in the past but did not like the bugginess and sluggishness of it. Have any of you made the switch and why? I use gmail and google maps. Have they come up with a way to easily move all of my music and playlists over. I went from an iPhone and iTunes before and moving my music over was a nightmare as I was able to move my music over but lost all of my playlists. Thanks for any help.

The Note 5 is completely smooth and very fast. No more bugginess or sluggishness. I've had several iDevices including an iPad Air 2 now and the wife with an iP6. Even my Note 3 ran very smooth up until this last OS update which I think is pushing it's limits just a bit.

Sounds like you'll be good either way. Use iSyncr on your phone and computer and your use of iTunes will continue to be seemless and fine. Sync wirelessly just like you would an iPhone.

I'd say both are capable devices. I much prefer the Google ecosystem and options Android devices come with. I'm using Nova prime on my Note 5 I don't think I could ever swap to a locked os. I'd also like to add the having the opportunity to own several iPhones and a bunch of android devices the Note 5 performs flawlessly, Samsung has managed to really increase UI performance, it flies. Couple that with a dope fingerprint scanner, the best smartphone display on the planet, dope cameras, beautiful design, fantastic form factor, and of course the customization Android offers and I'd say the Note 5 comes out on top.

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

I just came from an iPhone 6+ and the note 5 is easier to hold and the screen and camera are much better. For me the choice was more about the differences between ios and Android. You will have to decide which OS and ecosystem you prefer first. If you decide android is the right choice for you, the note 5 is a great phone to make the switch with. Samsung has done some really nice things with this phone that you will really like coming from an iPhone. Samsung has the closest ecosystem to Apple and this phone as well as the 6+ edge are equally as nice from a design perspective.

Good luck on your choice. I am happy I made it.

Re: iPhone 6s plus or note 5

Thank you for the info. One other thing that has me concerned is security and updates. I have an original nexus 7 with the current update it is so slow it is useless. I also have an original iPad mini with the latest update and it continues to work fine although a little slower but still usable. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.
