Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Saw a woman today with a Note 5 and she had a really cool looking case on hers. Found myself looking through Amazon trying to find it. Ended up putting at least four cases on my wish list. Caught myself and immediately got out of the Amazon app. Nothing but trouble there.

Amazon prime is a trap lol, I can't stop buying things from amazon now. My prime membership was pretty much free since I bought a fire phone for a $100.

And I really don't need another case. I have a Tech 21 tactical case and a Tech 21 screen protector. Both are perfect and look great. I shouldn't even entertain another case right now.

The photography apps are pretty good in both platforms. If you just take a little time in Play Store just like you did in the App Store, you will find your alternatives for Union and Waterlogue. And for hyperspace, Note 5 camera already has fast motion (and slow motion) with which you can take your hyperlapse video.

Posted via the Android Central App

I've tried every possible app I could find to replace Waterlogue, but its such a specific effect that nothing could replicate it perfectly enough for me to feel okay using.

and for Hyperlapse, I don't use it for speeding up or slowing down, i use for the 1x super stable video it outputs (Example below). scenic shots and walking looks so much better with this app and nothing on android can replicate it to the level of quality I get from this app.

I could get into all the little apps like iKaossilator, Animoog, Hydra, Tangled FX, and the various other iOS only apps I loved using daily, but the complete package of all these makes having an iPhone a more enjoyable experience than an android phone.

Yes, the Tech 21 Tactical is a lightweight, slim, and protective. Great choice. Liking mine.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

So yesterday, one of my employees noticed that I haven't been using my iPad Air 2. And it has been over a week since I have used it. I didn't even know right away where it was. She just looked at me strange because everyone is used to seeing me with it everywhere I go. I used it for everything while at work. And another employee noticed I was on the Note again and asked me if I were going to go Apple again soon. I said no if I could help it. I've been showing off the Note's features to anyone who inquires and a lot of people do. Even though the Note series has been a round for a while, people still haven't a clue as to all of the things it can do. They are impressed by the simple things. One employee absolutely loves that I can say ''smile" while in the camera app to take a selfie. To her it was the greatest thing. And most people are impressed by the action memo and the idea of not having to use post-its anymore. Like I said, the little things. I have to admit, it felt nice to have a gadget that not many other people have. Even though, I go through this with every Note I have purchased in the past. Don't think the coolness factor is going to wear off this time though.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Today is the last of the 14-day return window and last opportunity to return this device and get another.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Well.... I know this doesn't help but IOS 9.1 fixed every bug I had on my iPad mini 3 and iPhone 6 Plus. Buttery smooth now.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I still use my Note 3 daily as a downloader, and for Foxfi to power my iPad on the go. But as a daily driver I just can't seem to give up the iPhone. I don't what it is about this stupid iPhone lol

I remember you used to be a big Note fan. Is this your first iPhone?

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I like the app quality better I also just prefer the physical aspects of iPhone. I love FaceTime obviously and the ease of use. I love that every time I get a new iPhone I can easily set it up from backup. There is just something special about it. Can't put my finger on it. It's like now I love my iPhone and like my Note. Go figure. I also love how it meshes with my iPad. iMac is next for me

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Honestly I wish my mother never bought me the da%n iPhone. I was perfectly happy lol

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

As a confessed tech geek and habitual mobile phone junky, I have follwed this thread with great interest. Since 2012 (had every iPhone prior to then back to 2007) have moved from HTC One X to iPhone 5 to Note 2 to Moto X to HTC One M8 to iPhone 6 to iPhone 6 Plus to (currently) iPhone 6s Plus. I have been strongly considering the Note 5 (I had considered the Note 2 to be the best device I owned prior to the iPhone 6 Plus) and even more recently the Nexus 6P. I strongly believe that Android does a few things much better than IOS, specifically notifications and sharing (the share sheets in IOS still leave much to be desired, in my opinion). In past years, I would have switched without a second thought however here's my current quandry- As a father and husband and the Tech Admin for our household, breaking free of the IOS stronghold seems daunting. My children have iPads and iPod touches. My wife has an iPhone 6s and a MacBook. I find great value in being able to monitor all devices (including location of those pre-teens!), supervise purchases and iMessage with my younger kids. Additionally, both sets of grandparents have iPhones and the ability to create shared photo albums has been a terrific way for us to keep the grandparents up to speed on the family activities. And, I bought Apple Watches for my wife and I and we really like them. I'm certainly invested in the Apple ecosystem but would consider switching back if there were usable Android alternatives. Sadly, I don't believe there are.

I'm convinced at this point that the Note 5 or Nexus 6P would be better phones for ME but currently seems like being an iPhone owner is better fit for me within my family dynamic. First world problems- to be sure- but it's almost sad that I can't really switch phones whenever I want to!

I like the app quality

I have to disagree here (for me) --- I hated some of the apps on iOS. Some apps would allow you to only stream via wifi. Why? Why should an app police my data plan?

I don't know. That is odd though. Definitely an annoyance along with not being able to download apps over a certain amount of megabytes unless your on wifi
