Note 5 vs iPhone 6s

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

My coworker is trying to get me to buy an iPad Pro. That thing is huge. I do need to replace my iPad 2 since ios 8 ruined it, but my next iPad will definitely be smaller. The pro is like getting a new laptop. Lol

It is! And that's why it is so attractive to me. My aging eyes would appreciate more screen.

One of the things helping me maintain my position to keep the Note 5 is that performance is incredible. When did a Samsung smartphone enter into the "just works" category? Man, I haven't had any issues with this thing.

Actually noticing some performance hiccups while on WiFi. Some apps take a longer time to load and if a connection to Facebook is needed it takes forever. Wiped and started over and it was the same thing. Other devices in the house don't have the problem under the same WiFi. I'm a bit concerned...

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

Man, I just saw this today. Wish I had read it earlier. I have been with iPhone since the 3G and decided to switch to a LG G4 from the iPhone 5s in August and ran quickly back to a 6 plus due to all the bloat ware and being unable to stream my
music in my car due for some reason. Anyway, that's where it went downhill or maybe up and down. I went back to the G4 for 3 days, then to the Samsung S6, buying it outright, then back to the 6 Plus, to the Edge + for 5 days and then to the 6s Plus. Finally, I sat on that for nearly two weeks and went to the new Nexus 6p, which was my favorite. I loved
Stock Android. Problem is, I like iMessage, all my family and most friends have iPhones, i can't do group messages with people that have iPhones for some reason in Android and I share photos on Apples cloud sharing but can't with Android. Google Now is awesome as is Now on Tap and Android has the wow factor and better phones in some ways. But here I am writing from an iPhone 6s. I think I'm going to stick for now, maybe, if I want to stay married. I have too much disposable income and a tech addiction. Sigh. Glad I'm not alone.

I have read about this weird wifi issues before, do a search around the forums but I think it was related to using IPv4 instead of the default IPv6 on the wifi settings on the router, or something like that, but it will be better if you do the search.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I'm actually looking into trading my 6plus for a Note 5 or even a Note 4. Primarily looking on Craigslist for someone local. Just seeing if there's anyone looking to trade.

The struggle is real. I love the all day battery life on my 6 plus but I find myself wanting to give the Note 5 another shot.

What didn't you like about the Note 5 the first time around?

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I think I covered those reasons quite a few posts back. But mainly the battery life and I wanted a simpler os with iOS. But now I find myself sometimes bored with my iPhone. Pretty much the only phones for sale on CL in my area are Samsung phones.

I guess one good thing about my 6 plus will be the resale value a year from now. I'm only four months into a 24 month payment plan with Verizon.

Re: Aggravated with iOS /Android back and forth

I don't think it's just that. Smartphones are social devices. When many of the people in your circle are a part of a particular ecosystem, it is more convenient if you are also a part of that ecosystem, even if it isn't what you would personally choose. So I understand his point.

Exactly! My wife will not use android and it's so much easier to help her when she is lost on the road when we are both on iPhones.

Resale value is definitely a plus with Apple products.

Just sold my iPhone 6 Plus 64 gb on Craigslist. $510 buckos. Simple reason. I just got tired of seeing nothing but icons when I opened my phone. Incredible battery life though. The bad thing about my Note 5..... You can't help but fiddle!

That is true. There is so much to tinker with and a lot to learn. I think it's one of the reasons why I enjoy it so much. I'm always learning new things about it and how to use it. I just found out today that when you are in the messaging app if you go to more and then album, it shows all the pics that you have sent and received from that person. I have always liked this feature on iOS. Didn't know it was there until today. I'm always finding little things like that.

Ever thought about taking the time and going to Best Buy and talking to a Samsung person.

I'm sure you can do some things you want to do threw Google.

I found that watching videos in YouTube is pretty good for learning things. Search on Note 5 tips and tricks
