Hi there.

I'm currently based in Britain but am moving permanently to the United States next month and wanted some advice about compatibility.

At the moment, I'm using an iPhone 6 Plus but am switching to the Note 7 as soon as I can.

I'm going to struggle to get a cellphone contact when I first arrive in the US as I will be lacking credit history and even though I'd be happy to buy unlocked from some place like Bestbuy, I don't know what network to go for.. Possibly ATT, Cricket or Sprint. From what I understand, even unlocked ones have some kind of carrier affiliation?

I could buy one here in the UK but would it be compatible. Did the UK Get a different processor in the whole Snapdragon vs Exynos debate and would the bands be compatible with all networks? Obviously my iPhone will work with any sim.

Reason I would quite like to buy here is that I can have it delivered end of next week and then have 14 days to confirm I like it before heading out to the US.
Then if it's compatible, all I need change is the plug.

Any advice on the whole compatibility issue would be very gratefully received.

UK has Exynos instead of Snapdragon I believe. An unlocked Note would work on a GSM carrier in the US, but it may not have all the bands for the best coverage.
