S7E has an ok but not perfect memory management, with custom kernels i rarely get any app reloaded, unless i have two heavy games on background.

Note 7 seems to do even worse, sammy still don't know how to manage ram, maybe they should ask LG.
Well, to be honest, LG also has some work to do in that department.

I had G4 and saw G5, they rarely reload any apps unless you run really intensive ram apps, Samsung can't properly manage it, with any phone.

This is Samsung's way of doing things... They designed it this way. If you don't like it, don't buy a Samsung phone.

They need to improve upon it, as it can be annoying to be in middle of game, paused for a bit, come back and it refresh everything, meant nothing saved.

If you fine with that, then ok, i'm not, it's not the way the phone suppose to work as it can hold much more apps then sammy restrict.
Same goes for DVFS, S7 series are the worst phones for gaming, they throttle on purpose to save more battery life... rooting the device and using custom kernel can solve it.

System Performance Cont'd and NAND Performance - The Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Review

Scroll half way down the page.

Samsung will always be behind until they are using a better NAND controller. Which is funny since they make some of the fastest SSD's I've ever used.

They just aren't trying when it comes to their phones.

Last year Apple's implementation made it's OS twice as fast (see results from above link) as Samsung.

I am switching to Samsung with the Note 7 but I have a ton of questions for them as a company. They fall short on certain things that they should never fall short on. They design and make their own CPU's and memory. They should equal or beat Apple in all speed tests, real life or synthetic. Instead, they are 50% slower. Absolutely no excuse for this.

I think this is comparing an apple, pardon the pun, with an orange. That said, my Note 4 is not as snappy as I would like and the 7 could be the same even though the 7 is going to be a great phone.

But off the subject, the thing Samsung has fallen the most short on is its Gear S watch. Geez, disastrous charging system. I can only charge my watch now with rubber bands. I really need to talk to Samsung about this!

Right. It's not going to change, ever. This is the way Samsung uses RAM on their devices. As someone else said, you can either live with or not. But it's not changing

I really don't care about speed tests between iOS and android anymore... it's not like iOS 4 vs gingerbread or something like that where both still had rough edges in sw and hardware specs were all over the place among android phones causing wide performance differences.

Both platforms run pretty fast and smooth you can only tell the difference by the benchmark numbers. Flagship android phones run close to the same choices in processor and memory and OS. GoIng between android and iOS lately the difference I care about is features between the two.

If you can, check out the S7 edge speedtests on the same channel.

That's what I find weird, because both seem to manage memory in a drastically different manner. But of course, we'll know for sure when we receive our phones and use them ourselves.

Same. Phones are pretty fast nowadays, especially for daily use. I don't think most users will see much of a difference unless they do the same test and even then, tests like these are done in fixed conditions with a fixed selection of apps, so it doesn't tell you everything you need to know. The real way to find out is to use it yourself.
