UPDATE - I chose ship to home on my Aug 4 preorder and I just got the shipped email! Arriving tomorrow.

If you bought it on contract or through an instalment plan you will have to activate it in store.

Why ? If you had it shipped and under same plan you would activate it when it gets to your house. So why would they make you activate in store?

Called my Best Buy in Ft Worth. They said they only received Silver models for At&t. They are hoping for another shipment tonight. Not looking good for my pre order.

Same Brother already got his from AT&T.com. I'm jealous. It's a beautiful phone though. That's what I get for saving up late and ordering slightly later. At least it's preparing to ship, best buy told me it's going through a preactivation phase cause mine screwed up. The weekend won't be a fun wait for something I preordered. #firstworldproblems

Best buy is incredibly backed up. I'm sure quite a few of us worrying if we'll get it tomorrow and are all mad and threatening to cancel their preorders will receive theirs tomorrow..

Went through this every year with iPhones and AT&T's site. I doubt Best Buy has more server space than AT&T. I know I got an email about my watch the after and it was already moving and delivered.

Neither did AT&T with my previous iPhones. But they showed up at my door on launch day or the following Monday. Patience is virtue. I'm already expecting not to receive mine tomorrow (just to not give myself any false hope).

My bad man, just edited my post. It's preparing, and since i live very close, i'm sure they are just waiting until tomorrow to ship it.

I literally ordered the 4th. You'd think they'd have tried to make sure the f**king phone activates properly BEFORE CHARGING ME and attempting to ship it out to me for god sakes. I literally cannot believe I was charged $77 and they have zero idea where my device is. My online status still just says "Preparing your item for shipping." Sigh.

EDIT I was just told by the Twitter customer service rep. that I need to DM them in 24 hours FROM NOW for an update. I literally cannot believe this s**t.

Received email from Best Buy @ 9:04 AM this morning that my phone would be available for pickup in 8/19. Then received a phone call at 5:45 PM to schedule an appointment for 10 AM tomorrow. My store is in a suburb of Indianapolis.
