What's the difference between the two phones and are the new options available to the note 8

You can't really go wrong with either, the Note 9 is a tad bit quicker running apps in day-to-day use. The battery life is a little better in my use on the note 9. You have a little bit more functionality with the S Pen on the note 9. The speakers are better on the note 9 and you have more storage internally. Really both phones are great I enjoyed my Note 8 and only got the note 9 because I found a great deal around Christmas time.

Oh and the note 9 just got Android pie which is a nice upgrade.

a little faster, better battery, slightly better camera, one year longer updates.

I personally would not update to the 9 from the 8 unless I broke it and it was about the same price to update our fix, or I got a stupid good deal.

But I say that for every generation and this is the first time I haven't upgraded, even the ten isn't looking that enticing these are built so well.

I own both and they are so similar it feels like using the same phone, software is almost identical and they both offer plenty of performance.

Note 9 moved the FPS(I'm fine with either location)
Larger battery
Generation newer SOC
More storage and the 512Gb version has more RAM
S Pen added bluetooth so the pen button can trigger the camera and some other functions I've yet to use.
Added stereo speakers

Overall I feel design and user experience doesn't change much.
