Honestly, I think the color does not matter, the size alone is likely to draw attention on it's ownI always have a case on my phones so color is less relevant. That Said, I went with Black..

.I finally got to see and fool around with a Note 8 at AT&T this afternoon and I didn't feel it was as big as everyone complained about.

My Note 5 is bigger than my current S7 Active and the S7 Active (in a case) is about the same width as the Note 8 and only maybe 3/8" shorter. The Note 8 felt totally comfortable in my hand - from the reading I've done since the "Live Reveal", I've expected this thing that was going to be sticking out of my hand like 3 or 4 inches. It was really comfortable and controllable... as I'm typing this, I just realized, I never turned it over and looked at the fpr - duh! I always used the Iris Scanner on my Note 7 so probably will on this too! No comparison photo 'cuz I only have my S7 Active to shoot with! That's it... will hopefully purchase Friday morning in store, 9/15 - have 10:00 AM appointment!
Good to know. Also, did it seem "mirror-like" at all? Some of the You Tube videos showcasing colors made it look less gray and more silver, and very mirror-like reflectivity. Your photos don't seem that way.
Between the two is one a bit more "blend in with the crowd" that the other? If the gray is silver-reflective it might draw attention. OTOH the monolithic black despite being black, is a very uniquely black color that might draw attention more than the average "black, but it's really dark gray" phone.
If there's one thing I don't want to do with a $1000 phone is draw attention to it![]()
