I can fully understand that. Since these devices are mass-produced, some faulty ones still slip trough the quality control, no matter the price tag.

I sincerely hope that soon you can enjoy a new Note 8, without any difficulties.

As promised, here a brief update. Had the new device since yesterday and so far everything is running very smoothly. Temperature on average in the mid 20s according to Ampere and occasionally going up to mid 30s with heavy usage. Very happy thus far!!

I know but the Note 8 is provided by my employer through Vodafone who don't like dual SIMs.

I'm currently between the Sony Xperia XZ1 Compact, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro or waiting for the Galaxy S9...

If you want an iPhone, get it.
Don't mess around with it.

You should of been given a new device if its manufacturer issue.
Sounds like to me, you want an Apple device.
I'll tell you just like I told my son. Respectfully
He likes the Lg V30 plus, get it then. If it make you happy and you're the one paying, by all means do you.
But this is Samsung's year, the note 8 by far is the best device out there.
I've seen his V30 plus and its nice but it doesn't interest me. He's over here using my wife's note for stuff too. Go figure.

I finally have received a new device yesterday morning. Things have been running very smoothly since and I'm loving it.

Don't think I will go back to Apple as the main reason for getting a Note 8 was that I got tired of the many issues and bugs that I was experiencing of late (e.g., disappearing notes, disappearing music that I painstakingly digitalised many years back to name but a few).

Thus far, since I have the new device, I couldn't be happier with the Note 8 and the only question that remains is what device I should get for personal use as the Note 8 is my work device.
