Loaded oreo and its working well seems quicker, noticed changes in edge lighting, search bar, always on display clock, and notification badges so far.

Oh Verizon......Lol. I'm kind of dreading Verizon releasing Oreo update cause I heard they took out device management. Whether true or not....guess I will find out. Not the end of the world but I would like to keep that feature. Anywho...enjoy Oreo guys and gals.

So, applied the update and I'm glad they kept the swipe to call option in the text messaging app. Custom background and bubbles are still there but it looks like the custom tones for text messages are gone. Which I've read was an Oreo thing and not a Samsung thing. One thing I would've liked to seen which they did on the S9+ was opening links in text messages opens in your default browser and in my case chrome. But it's still that baked in Samsung browser that it opens in.

I believe on the S8 Oreo the ability to clear badge counts on the long press menu is removed. Is this still the same for the N8?

Yes, it's also gone with the N8 Oreo update.

It's probably a change with Oreo and not by Samsung. because once you clear the notification it now clears the badge at the same time.

Yeah I figured it was because of Oreo. But hey if clearing the notification also gets rid of the badges then I'm cool with that lol. Thanks.

So like my S9+ badge notifications are broken or hit or miss for my Facebook app. Not sure if others are broken but FB is the first I've noticed. I'm thinking maybe this is something Facebook needs to fix.

Well, I think I realize why since both notifications and badge counts are now tied together it's an all or nothing type of scenario. Previously I was able to block notification and keep the badge count but with the update since it sees that I have the notification off the badge count no longer works either.

TMobile was only a couple of days behind ATT for the January security update. Hopefully that's the same in this case too

I did the update earlier today. Everything is good so far except for my notification setting. It pretty much reset back to default. Ugh!

Yeah, because of the new way it handles them. I thought I had it figured out but looks like it's still an inconsistent mess like on the S9+

EDIT: It might even be the Samsung Launcher too. I might have to go back to Nova to see if things are better.

My AT&T Note 8 downloaded like 5 smaller updates before grabbing what I presume is Oreo (1407mb), which it's downloading now. I said I was gonna hold off but since my other unlocked Note 8 prolly won't be offered the update too soon I figured I'd take a risk. I wouldn't mind improvements in battery life after things settle down.

I've been happily using Gboard so haven't noticed...yet. I hope the Sammy keyboard isn't borked.
