Note 8 Oreo Update

Ok updated my phone last night. Not a fan. I'm not getting facebook notifications or email notifications even though under settings they are click on to receive. Can I just go back to my old version? This may seriously make me go back to an iPhone.

Unlocked Note 8 via O2 here in the UK and received Oreo yesterday; updated without a hitch and works as smoothly as ever ;)

Can we no longer assign text tones to contacts?

Samsung has blocked the feature in their stock SMS app. Somebody on Reddit offered this solution, but in Google Play S8 & S8+ users are reporting that with Oreo it no longer works to customize the notification sounds. Really frustrated that I might have to install Textra now.

Updated to Oreo this morning. On Sprint.

Yes, FPS seems much better. Always hit or miss for me. And the overall feel seems much snappier as well.

I initially got a message that I cannot use Samsung Pass on a rooted phone. Cleared the cache and all is well.

Re: AT&T Oreo Update just came in

So....nothing good? Both of those changes mentioned are things being complained about.

Just got the Notification that Oreo is available for my Note 8 and ATT. With my Note 4 I used to update and blow it away (start fresh) and that seemed ok. Do you need to do this with the Note 8 and Oreo? Any issues yet with Oreo and the Note 8 ATT? I get a little nervous upgrading right away.

I am on Verizon and not noticing anything too wonky with the Oreo update. The one thing I have noticed is that it appears that the default for the settings menu is the simplified menu and I don't see a way to switch to the expanded menu. Has anyone else noticed this and if so, have you figured out how to switch?

That's just the new menu structure.

It's started...

"that darn Samsung so darn late pushing updates... Where's my Oreo.?! I'm gonna sue Samsung! Why didn't I buy a Pixel? Samsung Sucks monkey toes! "

Today.

"this update sucks! How can I go back to Android N? This doesn't work! That doesn't work... Android sucks bunnies butt! ."

I have got Oreo but I am gonna to a factory reset and hope battery life has improved...my 2 problems with Note 8 battery life and speakers

Speaker(s) as in both the ear piece and bottom speaker? Just curious because both of mine are loud and clear.

Every major update is exactly like this. I imagine that won't change any time soon

So has it been running smooth for everyone? I hope it doesn't mess my phone up since it runs outstanding after 6 months! If it borks then it would give me a reason to buy the S9 Plus even though I want to wait for the Note 9.
