Note 8: Paste a screenshot without using Clipboard?

Hello!

I just upgraded to a Note 8 from a Note 4. My Note 4 allowed me to take a screenshot, then - via a long press - paste that screenshot into a message text field/email.

The Note 8 seems to only offer the Clipboard when I long press after a screenshot. I realize I can still paste the screenshot by accessing the image in Clipboard, but is there any way to get back the Paste option to directly paste the screenshot? Having to go fetch the image in Clipboard is a nuisance after the prior efficient way.

Immediately after taking the screenshot, why not click the share button and put the image in a text message?

I don't even see any long press options.

Using the share feature takes far more time and is not as streamlined. It's worse than accessing the Clipboard.

Share Feature Method
1. Screenshot.
2. Share.
3. Select share method (text).
4. Select new or existing contact.
5. Select contact(s).
6. Complete contact selection.

Vs.

Long-Press Method
1. Screenshot.
2. Home button.
3. Open message.
4. Long-press.
5. Paste.

Additionally, using the share feature method creates a new message each time. You cannot add the screenshot to an existing text draft or add multiple screenshots to the same draft.

Yup I get the same options at the bottom that allow me to share though I was distracted by theoptions at the top initially.

Incidentally I have remapped my Bixby button to share on long press. Nothing on short press to stop it popping up when I missed the volume button.

Yes, the options upon screenshot are annoying.

I want to be sure I understand correctly; you remapped your Bixby button to open the "Share" menu, or to execute "Paste?" I'm looking (hoping) for a Paste option. It would be great if the button can be mapped to Paste!

I just remapped my Bixby button to the Samsung Take Screenshot.
That offers me options at the bottom of the screen, one of which is the Share icon.

I've just now enabled palm swipe to capure to test against fully Samsung built in functionality and it does exactly the same.

It offers a short term menu but then opens the screenshot in the galery.

One tap on the image and you get the share opeion in the bottom menu.

In the text box to draft a message - see below.

The first image is after I have just copied text. The "Paste" option appears. This is what used to happen after a screenshot in my Note 4 - this is what I want.

The second image is what I get now on the Note 8, after a screenshot. "Paste" is not available.

The screenshot shows up in the Clipboard, so in that sense, it is being treated as if it has been copied (because the Clipboard, by definition, is only items that have been copied). Soooo, why can't I paste it?
