Note 8 to iPhone X?

I got mine today and not real happy with the X the note has a much better screen and it's much faster. Overall the note kills the X IMO. Apple did do a nice job with the X but after using the note 8 it just doesn't match up.

In general any iPhone up against the latest Samsung Note or even the Pixel is going to be a disappointment, especially if you're coming from Andriod. It will seem very boring imo. Going to the iPhone X would probably be like stepping back to the S6.

just saw a article where there saying apple said the x will have color and hue shifting and burn in issue

That's been said in several places but apple said they have installed software to protect against burn in.

I wonder is it going to be a lot of videos talking about the issue like the pixel and telling ppl not to buy it

Tom’s guide on display seems to say otherwise about hue shifting and seems to hold its own with Note 8. I think Best display will go to Note 8 this year but if they go with color accuracy then it could be close.

Erica is crazy about screen accuracy in her reviews so her first day thoughts sound positive...

Will have to wait and see on full reviews like Flossy ??????

It was another phone that came out to I can't think of the name of it after sharp and the g6 came out before Samsung to ... And I never said anything about them flopping I'm saying Samsung was not the first to do it
Which is hardly my point. That being iOS has copied much from Android and that typically gets buried in the media. Thought that was obvious from my first post. I'll do better next time.

I read in to it wrong I apologize

Those that are considering the iPhone 10 should consider the essential phone. Feels like best of both to me. I have essential phone and iPhone x coming from the note. Essential phone is very good.

I was really considering to try it but I hear the camera isn't that good on the essential phone but I really like the overall deisgn and look of that phone

I think it's fair to say that both phones have their strengths and weaknesses. The mistake I believe people make is that they attach their identity with their device. That's marketing -- and I believe we should resist it regardless of which phone you choose.

Like what have they copied from Android?

A specific OS version or just for iOS 11? Because with every iteration of iOS, you can get a list of 7-20 stuff Android came out with before them.

One of the most obvious would be a slide out with control toggles. This was nonexistent on earlier iPhones as they only got it in iOS7, but Android phones has had them since at least 2010.

iOS 11 is also getting advanced screenshot tools similar to the ones Samsung has since at least the Galaxy S6.

Samsung has got the Split screen feature since 2012 on the Note 2, which debuted on Apple on iOS9 back in 2015. Similarly, popup play debuted on the S3 and Note 2 which also came to iOS in iOS 9.

Spotlight on iOS8 does what Google Now started doing on Android 2 years before that.

Widgets came out on Apple in iOS8. Android always has had them.

Those are just some of the examples, but this copying goes both ways.

Yup, switched from Note 8 to iPhone X. Both are awesome devices but one of them doesn’t seems to get any software updates. Guess which one.

are you referring to actual *updates* or constant *fixes* ?

It's not an update when you're pushing it out to fix something you broke the last update. And the Note 8 is updated to the October patch from Samsung. It's not their fault if your carrier is lousy at updates though.
