I am on the fence between the two phones. I am not a big S Pen user. But I was wondering are there any major differences between the two phones other than the S Pen? I know the screen is a tiny bit bigger on the Note and the battery is slightly bigger on the S8...any other feature that I should consider?

Thanks

the note camera maybe slightly a little better and it does have that second lense if u care about portrait mode and the note might run smoother with the two gigs of ram also .....you probably can't go wrong with either tho ..... PS get the note lol

slightly less curve on screen as well, if the extra couple of quid is not a big deal then get the note, you're bound to start using the pen more and more before you know it

I had the same trade off considerations to make and went with the note 8. I've never had a note before so the s pen wasn't a big decision maker, but the extra ram, the improved Samsung experience 8.5 software and the dual camera was. I'm pleased with my decision

This was going to be my selling point too. I have had both and prefer the Note 8 screen by quite a bit. I'm not a huge fan of the curved displays, but the Note 8 isn't bad at all. It has just enough curve to still get that look but doesn't hinder usability.

Not to mention the Note 8 runs so smoothly. Everytime I pick up my iPhone 8 Plus I can't believe that the Note 8 is the phone that has less hiccups.

I have had every Note since the Note 2 and use the S-Pen daily, but it's not for everyone. I just don't think most people think of ways that it can enhance the use of the phone. It certainly does if you give it the chance.

We have had 6 family members buy the Note 8. None of us yet have even used the S pen.
We LOVE the large bright screen. We LOVE the battery life!! We LOVE less curves on the edge.(We would
LOVE to get the total flat screen back for the note 9!!) Might play with the S pen one of these days, but even without it, the note 8 is by far the best phone I have ever owned!!!

Extra RAM which helps with multitasking(keeping more apps open in background)

Telephoto secondary lens, many claim it's just for portrait mode but by giving you zoom it helps photograph anything you can't stand near.

S Pen with all its cool features.

Larger screen with slightly different design style on the phones body.

Slightly smaller battery, but the difference doesn't make a huge difference on battery life.

Personally I would get the Note unless you're trying to save some money. S8 is great, but the Note is better.

I have no use for the S-pen and I seldom take photos with my mobile, I mostly use a good camera for that. So I went for the S8+ and have no regrets. I like the more rounded corners and the phone runs very smooth and battery life is great, and the camera is pretty good. Can recommend.

Many reviewers said Note 8 is smoother and snappier than S8, and less lag over a period. Not sure how true
I wonder if those reviewers have actually been using S8(+). I don't doubt the Note 8 is a great device, it better be for that price. But the same is true for S8(+). One is not better than the other, they are just a little different.

If you planned to use DeX the extra memory and better memory management are a win-win.

I was very impressed by a review on YouTube showing opening every app, then going back and reopening in reverse order. N8 showed it handled that without a sweat.
