Headphone Jack (can't believe I actually have to put this as a dream spec).

Wireless Charging.
Bendable/hinging SPen that can double as a jack stand.
Full ability for Dark Theme throughout the OS.
Removable Battery (If IP68 is compromised, then forget the removable battery, but it would be nice).
Fingerprint sensor on the front.
The absolute best camera and video quality in a smartphone ever.
64GB onboard storage.
6GB RAM.
Put a decent speaker on it for the love of Pete.

That's all I can think of. I hope it comes out sooner rather than later. But we are still probably looking at Aug announcement.

No, was just about to buy one when the problems started.
I think if people pre order a phone, the manufacturer will have an idea on initial sales from launch, why not reward loyal customers.

I was one of the first to get the Note 2 when it came out in the UK, its the only phone i have bought at launch, I think I had a free Samsung case with it, which I never used. Since then there have been free micro SD cards, Google music, cases and VR glasses with various releases but why not discount the phone for pre orders, it's damn expensive enough to!

Purported dimensions of the S8 and S8 Plus... If the Note 8 is anywhere near the S8 Plus dimensions... or BIGGER... I'm out on the Note 8 then. The Note 7 was just my limit on dimensions. I like a sweet spot < 5.5" max. I find it crazy the phone sizes now. I'll go with a S8 in the rumored dimensions and hope the rumor of pen accessory is real and live without a silo :/

No curved screen ... but

A secondary screen like the LG V20. As a two-time Note 7 owner, I found the curved screen worthless but I actually find the secondary screen on my LG V20 quite useful and functional.

Also, I would love the return of IrDA. Truthfully, I did not realize how much I missed it until I got an LG V20 to replace my second Note 7. Why did Samsung get rid of the IrDA any way?

God, you couldn't have conveyed my own thoughts on this subject better! The Note 7 was the BEST phone I have ever owned, even with the safety issues, which I never experienced!

It may be too late by now, but "Samsung, are you listening?"

Boy, that's tough - my Galaxy S7 Active has a 4000 mAh and it's a fairly thick phone. I don't think that's what Samsung wants to do with the Note!

I think a 4000 mAh battery would be great news, battery development has come a long way since the early note series, I wouldn't mind it being non removable if it were that powerful!
In reality I think maybe a 3500 mAh non removable, as more advanced hardware is used, less power is used "allegedly"

Yeah, the Note 7 was 3500 mAh and I was thrilled with that performance, especially the "Replacement" units - they seemed to have even better battery life than the originals. That would be fine with me!
