Um, we're not talking about screen resolution between those phones. I'll just quote myself from another post.
Now I really didn't even have to use screen resolution in those devices, but I did so for the Note 4.
Now compare that to the difference between the GS6 and the Note 5 and then the GS7 and the Note 7. Granted, the Note 7 had the Iris Scanner...... Now compare the hardware differences between the Note 5 and the GS7, then compare the Note 7 to the GS8. Look at all the hardware changes, it's hard not to see it. I don't get how you don't see it.
I completely agree. Up to the Note 4 there was a clear difference between the S and Note lines. From that point on the Note line has basically just been a glorified S series device with a S Pen.
While I agree in part that smartphone tech has plateaued I also think Samsung has gotten lazy with the Note line just adding the S Pen and a few minor tweaks here and there thinking it's enough. That may be ok for the general consumer and the casual Note user but not for most of us original Note aficionados. Thus I think they have jumped the shark with the Note series.
