Note 9 could be released in July!!!

If the latest spec rumors are true it's not a very exciting device to anticipate any more. June, July, August... doesn't really matter. Won't be much different from our Note 8's.

Yep. Everything I've read lately points at a minor, incremental upgrade to the Note 8. New SoC, slightly bigger battery, stereo speakers, S9 Plus cameras and a few mm shorter in height

How is that not exciting? I liked my Note 8, the only reasons i switched to the S9 plus was that I could without spending much on the difference, the Blood Pressure Monitor, and faster processor, and dual speakers; and I will get those features with the Note 9 and more.

They are going to have an unpacked event at least a month ahead of when the phone will be available for retail, if for nothing else than to give the carriers time to prepare for retail sales. So I would be looking first for rumors of a new unpacked event coming sooner than August.

Well, part of my dampened excitement has to do with the camera. If the camera setup on the S9 had lived up to its promise, I might be looking forward more to the new Note. The updated processor, battery, speakers are nice, but I'd honestly rather have the Note 8 camera than the S9 camera. If they sort out all those issues, I'll feel better - but something tells me they will not.

So if I want a new phone I might save money and be better off getting the s9 plus if they have deals on it than the Note 9?

Let me save you you the trouble now from worrying...you WILL be getting the Note9. It's a foregone conclusion. All of us on here know better.

No. As has been repeated over and over, it comes down to the pen. If you don't care about the pen, get an S. If you really want the pen, then your decision is made for you.

So, are there any hurricanes forecasted for the note 9 release date in your area this year?

Don't get me started on that again! UPS screwed up because they didn't get my Note on the plane that night it was supposed to. The next day they stopped flights to RSW BUT Miami was still accepting flights and it got sent there. It sat there during Irma and for 6 days after because that area of Miami was one of the last places to get power back. Then finally my phone made it to southwest FL.

Yea I was worried about my Note 8 when Irma was forecasted to come around Punta Gorda as a cat 4.

Add this to the failed rumor list. Won't be released in July - will be announced in August.

It will not hit the shelves more than a month ahead of schedule, who cares anyway.....
If I was coming from ANY other phone than the Note 8 then I would play it clever and wait until Note 9 is released and then pick up a really well priced note 8

T-mobile was talking last year that changes were coming to JOD this August. At the time, it seemed timed with the Note9 release. Maybe they're waiting on the Note9 release date to make the changes earlier. I'm thinking that zero down payment will be a thing of the past.
I just got a text message a little bit ago confirming that changes are coming to JOD! in August. They're wording it like they're doing you a favor and listening to customer feedback. Blah blah blah. They're doing it because it's too costly for them to get rid of used phones, so they're charging their customers more to make sure they will turn off a profit somehow. As if their rates weren't enough. I'm not sure if an exact date was mentioned. But, you can be sure it will be before the Note9 release.
